Hi Jenna,

I haven't noticed any out-of-the-ordinary calming signals from my deaf Sheltie. In fact, of all my dogs, he is the one who is most intune with doggie language. His non-verbal communication with other dogs is dead on every time he meets other dogs. It make reading him from my standpoint a snap because his non-verbal communication is just textbook. I've always thought it was so good because he was deaf and relied so heavily on non-verbal communication.

I know you probably didn't mention what the behaviors you are getting from your dog are so that you can get a clear, non-biased response from other deaf dog owners. However, I would be curious as to what these behaviors are.

I'm glad you're working with someone who can help you deal with your baby's behavior problems.

BTH, how old was he when he was taken from his litter? Do you know? And, did you every take him to a puppy class?

Good luck,

-Kristin
