Hi Lori,

Please read the posts below. You'll find answers to many of your questions there. Also, check out the ddeaf.com website. They, too, have the answers to your questions.

I have used the vibrating collar. I've liked it very much, but do not need to use it anymore. My little guy has learned to watch my hearing dogs, and he responds with them. He's also learned to head check me every minute or so when he's out in the back yard. In the house, he never leaves my side - something he's learned on his own.

And, as you'll read in several of my posts here, I strongly urge you to find a good, positive trainer in your area who can help you train your dog. Your dog needs to be around lots and lots of strange dogs and people yet in a safe environment. You can get that best through puppy class. Playing at home with other dogs he knows doesn't count as socalization. It must be with unknown dogs and people.
