Just wanted to say thank you for all the info. Congrats Kristen on your run off in HIT. That is something special. I too have shown in obedience & agility but not HIT. My boy was always the consistent one but not HIT. I never cared just as long as he was having fun. Now those days have passed. I have 3 toy dogs that all have their CGC but that is all. Now I am off competition & am just working on getting fit (myself & the dogs) to hike the Appalachian trail. Oppih (my deaf Dogo) my newest addition is working the trails well. We are up to 7 miles but mostly flat work. Next it is hill work but shorter milage. He is overweight at 26" & 115lbs. needs to loose the flab & put some muscle on his body.
Jacqui I really think that having a hearing dog with Oppih is great because he learns from their reactions. Although I like that fact that he could care less about other dogs when we walk, not like my toy gang. These past 4 days have been the longest I have spent with him & he is learning his place in my pact. I think since he is coming from a rescue with at least 10 dogs always in the house he is very tolerant of all. He is learning my hand signals very well. I can't wait to move so that I can keep him full time.
Can't wait to hear more of your Dogo. Does he like to swim? Mine is enjoying the water but doesn't swim yet, a little cold now. Maybe next Spring I will get him in the water.
Take care all & I will check back as often as possible.

Katie
