deaf white boxer newly adopted

We just adopted a deaf, white boxer. He was going to be put down by the breeder because no one would take him. We already have a 16-mos old white boxer who can hear. We are in the process of doing research on the best way to work with the new dog. Any suggestions on good resources? This is our first non-hearing dog and we would like to do whatever we can for him. He is very timid, underweight, etc. He was not well-cared for so we have multiple issues to overcome.
