Congrats on adopting your new baby. It's sad that there are breeders out there like this. I'm still amazed that in this day and age we would still be putting deaf dogs to sleep. Please!

It sounds like your baby has also had some neglect issues as well. It's so good he has a home now. My advice is get a good vet and a good trainer and go from there. Books, the internet, etc., really don't substitute for an in-person trainer. Trainers can see subtle cues we're giving with our bodies to give our dogs wrong information and commands. They can correct signage problems and so much more.

As far as a good resource, I like the info at ddeaf.com. You may have already been there, though. I also like the red KISS dog training book.

Hopefully other deaf boxer owners will chime in and give you some good breed related advice.
