I sold a deaf male puppy to a friend

My friend bought a puppy from me about 4 months ago. She was telling me she thinks it might be deaf. She took Rome(dog)to the vet yesterday to confirm the worst. I was so devestated of the outcome. Is there any advise you can give us on raising a deaf pitbull puppy around a 4 yr old little boy who is so in love with it. In away she wants to get rid of it in fear that the puppy might bite Brent (the boy) but Her husband has also grown feelings for the puppy and so far they (Rome and Brent) sleep together and play together. The only way she can get Rome's attention is by stomping her feet or physically touch him. Please help us.Any advise will help.
