We've seen defense attorneys pull stunts before and gotten mad at them, so even if it's a good guy doing it and it's actually helping someone who's innocent, it's still really frowned upon.

However everyone has gotten so fed up with the justice system lately and the scum that gets off on technicalities or walks or gets way less of a sentence than they deserve I think it's more satisfying, for both the viewers and the characters. Maybe I'm biased because I've been rereading "His Name Is Ron" by the Goldman family lately, but I got a little too much enjoyment out of what he did. It reminded me of the episode of Eyes, where the investigators made a deal with a kidnapper: they would give him a forged passport so he could escape the country and all they wanted was the victim back. Of course, said passport was in the name of a terrorist on the most-wanted list. :)
