'THE TRIANGLE' SCORES!
Released by Sci Fi
'THE TRIANGLE' SCORES!
NIGHT ONE OF SCI FI'S ORIGINAL MINISERIES 'THE TRIANGLE' SHATTERS RATINGS RECORDS
NEW YORK, NY--December 6, 2005--The premiere of Night One of SCI FI Channel's Original Miniseries 'The Triangle' averaged a 3.7HH rating and over 4.3 million viewers (P2+) in its 9-11pm block! Night One of 'The Triangle' is the highest-rated program to air on SCI FI since 2003 and is the Channel's highest-rated and most watched miniseries premiere night since the Emmy Award-winning 'Steven Spielberg Presents TAKEN' (12/2/2002, 4.9 HH/6.1 million P2+).
SCI FI's audience of over 4.3 million bests the #2 entertainment program of the day, Nickelodeon's 5pm telecast of Spongebob, by nearly half a million viewers. 'The Triangle' also delivered more total viewers than Fox's 'Arrested Development' (4.1 million P2+) and 'Kitchen Confidential' (3.1 million P2+), as well as all programs on the WB and UPN.
'The Triangle' was the #1 non-sports program on cable Monday--second only to WWE's 'Monday Night Raw' on USA--in HH ratings and P2+ audience delivery. SCI FI's miniseries 'The Triangle' continues tonight @9pm and concludes on Wednesday, December 7.
In the tradition of SCI FI's blockbuster December miniseries events 'Legend of Earthsea,' 'Battlestar Galactica,' 'Steven Spielberg Presents TAKEN' and 'Frank Herbert's Dune,' 'The Triangle' has wowed audiences and brought in record ratings for the Channel.
'The Triangle' marks the first collaboration between Hollywood filmmaking talents Bryan Singer ('X-Men,' 'Superman Returns') and Dean Devlin ('Independence Day'), with a teleplay by Rockne S. O'Bannon from a story by O'Bannon and Singer & Devlin. In the SCI FI Channel miniseries, billionaire Eric Benirall (Sam Neill) is losing his cargo ships and their crews at a frightening pace-and now, he wants answers. Looking to put an end to these disappearances once and for all, Benirall commissions a diverse team of discipline-specific experts, to get to the bottom of this legendary anomaly.
Benirall's handpicked team features lead skeptic and Florida-based tabloid journalist Howard Thomas (Eric Stoltz), deep ocean resource engineer Emily Patterson (Catherine Bell), meteorologist/adventurer Bruce Geller (Michael Rodgers) and psychic Stan Lathem (Bruce Davison). Pulled together with the promise of limitless funding for their research and the chance for once-in-a-lifetime riches, the team sets out to solve this most daunting of puzzles. Deepening the mystery is Meeno Paloma's (Lou Diamond Phillips) first-hand encounter with the deadly forces at work in the Triangle. The lone survivor of a Greenpeace expedition lost at sea, Meeno is having difficulty readjusting to the life he had before that fateful expedition. A research expedition with the promise of riches soon becomes a frantic, head-turning ride through the unstoppable force that is 'The Triangle.'

- Amazing what a little advertising can do, huh? Wonder what would have happened if CBS/Paramount had....never mind. Too late. (NT) -- Deemus, 20:46:29 12/07/05 Wed
- It wasn't just advertising Deemus....you had two very big producers in Devlin & Singer (Independence Day, X-Men, the next Superman) you had 3 male actors who are well-known Neill, Stoltz, Phillips (Jurassic Park, Hunt for Red October, Memphis Belle, Mask, La Bamba, Courage Under Fire) Bruce Davison has been in the business 30+ years, Catherine coming off of JAG, etc....Sure it was promoted, but it also had a good team behind & infront of the cameras. I'm glad for them all, & glad that our JAG crew is finding work. (NT) -- Jennifer, 23:32:38 12/07/05 Wed

The hype maching helps but dont underestimate scifi fanbases and new viewers tuning in too. Hype or not when its a true find and viewers like it then ratings climb up.No matter the hype but when the something sucks people will slowly tune out and ratings on the second half or next night falters not improve. My grade: B+ (NT) -- M, 02:30:16 12/08/05 Thu

Miniseries Triangle -- AndieK, 00:34:04 12/06/05 Tue
Bring on part 2 of the Triangle. I enjoyed it and despite some minor flaws overall it was entertaining and for once a TV popcorn night minus all the dark depressing stuff on television week after week.
I miss Mac,H&M so a nice way to fix our CB withdrawal.
Some X-men feel to the show too.

http://www.nascar.com/2005/news/features/conversation/10/26/cbell/index.html
OK, in the last scene of J.A.G., you tossed a coin to determine whether Mac or Harm would resign their commission. Which was it?
Bell: Come on, Mac won. Mac has got to stay in the Marine Corps. What would she do if she wasn't a Marine? Yah, Harm comes down to San Diego, wears the apron, cooks and cleans, raises the kids for her. That's my version of it, anyway.

- Got to love that response! Works for me. (NT) -- Cristina, 16:57:38 10/27/05 Thu
- I do think Harm was in "a place" where he could do the Mr Mom thing. Just remember him dropping of Mattie at school and how he was always cooking for Mac. Did we ever see Mac cook for Harm? Besides Harm has so many other interests I do not think he would get bored. (NT) -- Lucky, 20:34:21 10/27/05 Thu
- Exactly - if Mac stays home how are the kids going to get fed? Yes Harm might feed them his famous meatless meatloaf, but.... I've always been able to see Harm as a bit of Mr. Mom than to see Mac give up the Marines (NT) -- Aria, 15:46:14 10/31/05 Mon
- Actually Harm has only cooked for Mac a couple of times. Harm only cooks for Mac in Fanfiction..lol. That's what cracks me up about the comparison between fanfiction & what actually happened on the show. Mac actually did cook for herself & they showed this in the earlier seasons, she made a pot roast as well as other things & cooked that nice meal for Webb. The only thing I've ever seen Harm cook is spaghetti..lol, & fish once for Mac. BUT fanfiction has him portrayed as this gourmet cook..lol. Not So..lol. (NT) -- Kathy (Who thinks it's funny how Fanfiction can distort what happened on the actual series), 09:55:03 11/01/05 Tue
- Both characters are single & Both do alot of take-out. Harm even admitted it to the Social Worker. I loved this article and I agree with CB's ending..lol. He's not a behind the desk kind of guy and he needs to take care of his Mattie with all her issues. After all he decided to adopt her. (NT) -- Kathy, 09:57:14 11/01/05 Tue
- True enough - but I think its more their personalities that made folks do that in fanfiction and then make us think that.... because it somehow it just seems right that harm is the more domestic one (after all I have not read THAT much shipper fic in my life, mostly non-shipper fic - and yet I still have this picture in my mind of Harm being the one who cooks) (NT) -- Aria, 12:52:11 11/02/05 Wed
- I see what you're saying, but in the same sense, I don't see Harm domesticated at all. He wasn't really there for Mattie as a guardian, Coates was. He had his moments, but I never found him very warm and loving. He has never looked comfortable showing love and emotion. He's always appeared reserved to me. Mac has always shown her loving, caring domesticated side. With her friends, clients, Chloe, etc. She's always been more loving and easily shown that love and compassion. (NT) -- Kathy, 13:29:45 11/02/05 Wed
- I've read alot of fanfiction, (some I wished I hadn't & stopped reading as well..lol). In my opinion there are "very few" authors out there that "truly" capture the essence of both characters. I've actually stopped reading any new stuff & really gone back & read the older stuff, b/c the authors of yesterday captured the essence of both characters. Now the stories are all the same, Harm saves the day, he saves Mac from herself (gag), he basically walks on water, & to me that's unrealistic & not good reading. So I choose not to read the new stuff. jmho. (NT) -- Kathy, 13:48:11 11/02/05 Wed
- True enough - I stopped watching about the time of the Mattie stuff, so I guess that didn't really work in there... Personally Harm is still on my "bad list" from the "all Mac's boyfriends" line - so my view of him being a tad more domestic is not meant as a compliment (nor is it an insult, LOL) - and yes we get too much Teflon Harm... (NT) -- Aria, 01:31:05 11/04/05 Fri
LOLOL at this article. (NT) -- M, 00:15:57 10/30/05 Sun
- This woman is so talented and vibrant as ever. I cant wait for the mini-series. Some of my Stargate buddies are already asking about CB. (NT) -- Todd, 15:04:33 11/01/05 Tue

'Raging Granny' Gets Marine Recruitment Letter
Thursday, October 20, 2005
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Sally-Alice Thompson had to laugh when she got a letter from the Marine Corps' commanding general, telling her the military "is in need of your service" and inviting her to find out more by sending in an enclosed card.
"What else could I do? I mean, I'm 82 years old," Thompson said.
Not only that, Thompson is a well-known local peace activist who is a charter member of the Center for Peace & Justice in Albuquerque and belongs to Veterans for Peace and Raging Grannies.
So instead of sending in the card, she plans to visit the Marine recruiting center with other Raging Grannies, which Thompson describes as "a group of women unhappy about wars of aggression and about nuclear armaments."
"I don't know what kind of reception we'll get," said Thompson, who served in the Navy in World War II.
She began questioning government actions when the United States went to war in Vietnam. She's since taken part in the Great Peace March of 1986 across the United States, participated in a similar march from Leningrad to Moscow the following year. She's been in more than a dozen marches since President Bush took office and went to Crawford, Texas, in August in support of anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan when Sheehan tried to talk with the president on his vacation to Texas.
The letter from Brig. Gen. Walter E. Gaskin told Thompson that "now is the time to put your unique language skills to the test as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. Your command of the Arabic language will be invaluable among the elite few."
Thompson, who said she knows two words of Arabic, said she has no idea why she got the letter.
But she's heard similar stories.
"A number of older women have been getting these letters," she said. "So I think someone is pulling the Marines' leg."

JAG 2.0 - A JAG quiz game of sorts... -- Nid, 05:18:55 10/14/05 Fri
I have created a kind of JAG quiz online at
http://www.geocities.com/nidhij1224/jag/jagindex.htm
There are only five levels, so if you have some time please let me know what you think. The format of this quiz is similar to other online games such as notpron, except a lot easier and less creative. For those not familiar with this format, here's a basic rundown:
The answer to whatever question or riddle posed on a webpage is entered after 'http://www.geocities.com/nidhij1224/jag/'
It is entered in all lowercase and with no spaces. For example, if the answer is David James Elliot, the URL would look like this:
http://www.geocities.com/nidhij1224/jag/davidjameselliot
So you only have to manipulate the last part of the URL to enter your answer. A correct answer will take you to the next level. An incorrect answer will likely get you a 404 page (or whatever Yahoo! uses)
The questions, however, are not always posed in a straightforward fashion. Look at the title to help you figure out what it's looking for. There are also hints on certain pages that can be seen by selecting the text after "Hint:". There's nothing hidden in the source code, so don't look (my HTML is horrible). Most importantly, I just hope you enjoy playing and that it brings back some good old JAG memories.
Drop me an email with "JAG" in the subject line if you need any hints or if there's a glitch. Feel free to discuss it on the board(s), too. I'll take any kind of feedback. :o)
PS. Please use the exact FIRST link provided above. Going up one level takes all the fun out of it (thanks Geocities).

Harm's award ceremonies -- Bettina, 13:22:15 09/30/05 Fri
Hello there :)
I just read a story that deals with Harm's flying and the accomplishments - amongst other things. Well, there's a train of thought that's been dormant for a long time and now I finally get to ask here!
As far as I can remember, Harm & Mac first met in the White House Rose Garden after an award-ceremony for his first DFC for saving Tom Boone's life and the plane with it - right? Then he earned a second DFC for this tail-hook-push while he changed his designator and was back in a fighter squadron - and the 'ceremony' was something very small in the JAG-yard, right?
Well, there's also been a Silver Star later on for him saving the Seahawk from a nuclear missile. IIRC this one was awarded by his CO as well.
Now ... I'm just a tiny bit confused as to why especially this first DFC was awarded by the President itself while the others were probably no more than a hush-hush thing in the lunch-break. I admit that I cannot clearly remember any of these three ceremonies but in my opinion, there was too much artistic freedom just to bring Mac in the show.
Finally finished typing .. but this thing has bugged me for a long time.
Regards,
Bettina

- I met Catherine Bell today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -- Kacy, 20:48:11 09/26/05 Mon
We have been vacationing in L.A. since Sept. 21st and our flight back to Atlanta was this morning. We were in the Delta section of LAX and my mom was in the McDonald's in line to get coffee and I was standing just outside. I was looking toward our gate when I heard a familiar voice saying, "yaaa, McDonald's!," and I turned around just in time to catch the side of Catherine's face as she was wheeling Gemma into McDonald's! I followed her in and she was standing right behind my mom. I whispered frantically to my mom, "Catherine Bell from Jag is standing right behind you!" My mom then turns around and says hello to her and she was very nice. She said that she was "incognito with her kid." She's super sweet and sooo beautiful! Gemma is a cutie, she was wearing ballerina slippers. Catherine had a lady with her who I guess is her assistant. The lady was nice also and had a thick accent of some kind. She had kind of long brown hair and was in her 30's I guess.
I just thought it was so awesome to see her at LAX McDonald's of all places. She got on a flight to Tampa, Fl.

Your comment about your mom and you saying, "God, She's So Gorgeous" reinterates what alot of others that have met her have said. And she wasn't wearing any makeup on their encounters either. I'm not as upset since I've met her, but it would have been great to say hello!.. Had a blast a fanfest and seeing all the "Jag sites" especially McMurphy's and Red Cross Bldg. Had fun seeing all my friends too. Glad you got to meet her Kacy, she is truely an amazing, beautiful and sweet lady! (NT) -- Carla, 15:11:18 09/27/05 Tue

- No, I didn't ask her about any future projects because I didn't want to create a scene or anything since she was with Gemma. There were only 2 other guys who noticed or recognized her, that I could tell. The guys went to the gate where she was sitting and were like watching her like a hawk. They were also talking on their cell phones, probably telling everyone they know that they saw Catherine, lol. (NT) -- Kacy, 19:24:17 09/27/05 Tue

- Questions for Fanfest -- McMax, 14:39:54 09/24/05 Sat
I would like for anybody going to the Fanfest to ask these questions of the people from the show such as Charles Floyd Johnson.
1. Why did you not let AJ and Meredith get married? A new wife would have been just one more incentive for retirement and a more positive one that just having enough. A wedding also would've been more uplifting that the dining-in was. JMJ was leavening the show any way and this would have been better ending for AJ than him just going off alone into the night like he did. Why did you do it the way you did?
2. Why was there no scene between Mac and AJ when the Admiral was say good-bye to the staff? I know why there was no scene with Harm. DPB had already decided to get rid of DJE, that meant getting rid of Harmon Rabb and to do that DPB had to sever all the connections between Harm and all the other characters. That's why they abandoned him at his murder trial and Mac monstrous ingratitude for Paraguay and for her treating him like crap for three years. The animosity from Sturgis and that Bud and Harriet just disappeared from his life and that Harm and AJ had nothing more that a professional relationship. But nothing with Mac?
3. Why did you do what you did to Maddie at the end? The Maddie storyline had been ended with her returning to her father so why the crash and the abandonment by him knowing that JAG was over and this would be resolved?
Thanks to anyone who asks these!

- JAGFanFest Finds a Way! -- The JAGFanFest Planning Committee, 02:08:56 09/01/05 Thu
JAGFanFest Friends,
We have all been saddened by the news from the Gulf Coast and
wondered how we could help. The JAGFanFest has found a way! After
discussions with the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society and the
American Red Cross, the JAGFanFest Planning Committee has decided
that this years proceeds will be earmarked for the Hurricane Katrina
Relief Fund.
We all know that the ARC is always in need of funds at times like
these and what a great job they do. We also know the Gulf Coast is
home to so many military installations and after hearing how many of
our service people have contacted the NMCRS for help, we knew that
JAG Fans would be ready to help both organizations!
So this is how you can help, visit our website and be generous buying
those raffle tickets! Then swing on over to the auction preview to
see what we have in store for you and make those shopping lists!
This way you can give to those in need and in return, you could take
home a memento! Remember all proceeds will still benefit our two
great charities, the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society and the
American Red Cross--but they both will be earmarked for the immediate
Hurricane Katrina Relief!

- Final Thoughts and Fairwell -- Randy, 23:30:23 08/27/05 Sat
Hello to all JAG fans. First, I wish to belatedly thank the creators and producers of JAG for an exciting, intriguing, and thought provoking entertainment. The show held my interest and loyalty. My purpose is to post my thoughts on the JAG ending and the series in general before this fan site is removed from the web. I realize that I might I expressed my thoughts previous posts; please forgive me.
First, given the episodes for the last two years (since Mac and Harm’s returned from Paraguay) the last show as a stand-alone episode, was superb. I appreciated and was intrigued by the possibilities it offered to the audience and it was written with artistry, with a touch of the poet. However, I did feel a sense of relief that the (my belief) one and a half to two “years in the wilderness” of depressing shows was over. I felt that the Harm/Mac relationship was dragged out and “resolved” only when the show concluded, i.e., it was artificially timed-out. The last year could have been a transition year to an ensemble cast.
Mr. Belarsarius stated that he would not repeat the Harm/Mac theme on NCIS. NCIS has an ensemble cast not emphasizing one character over another. Thus, when one of the characters is killed (e.g. Kate) then another character can fill the position without hindering or altering the show’s theme. His other shows such as Magnum, PI, Quantum Leap, and JAG were driven by and centered around one individual, thus any event in the main character’s life was magnified and altered the show’s direction. I wish to politely opine that the Harm/Mac relationship was one of the drivers that made the show interesting, successful, and without it I doubt the show would have lasted ten years.
It was obvious that the show seemed to be in a transition to an ensemble cast by the introduction of new characters. However, the show could not move forward without resolving the Harm/Mac issue. It was the proverbial 800 pound gorilla sitting in the corner. The situation prevented me from wanting to understand the characters the producers introduced in the last year. It was unfortunate because I began to appreciate the new characters, their multi-dimensional personalities, and the transition just as the series was concluded by TPTB. The JAG concept far outweighs the lives and love interest of two people
An alternate series transition, and this is not 20/20 hind sight, would be to have H/M reconcile at the admiral’s wedding. Forgive me if I am repeating myself from a previous post, however, I still believe that the path the writers(?) chose for the Admiral/Meredith issue was unnecessarily dark and depressing at the time when some levity was needed by the series. The successful JAG recipe was the mixture of humor with the extremely serious issues of national security, war, and military life. The “What If” episode illustrated ‘what should have been’ with the Admiral and Meredith. I propose that Harm and Mac could have reconciled at the Admiral’s wedding. (kiss, dance together, or merely hold hands) would have reduced the uncertainty and implied to the audience and fans that they were working on “it” Personally, the Mac/Webb relationship never had the chemistry and was filler. Then the next year, S10, they could have been kept apart by their jobs, world and military events, while other characters were introduced to the audience.
In conclusion, I will miss JAG, specifically its sense of honor, duty, patriotism, and most importantly the pursuit of the truth no matter where it lead. Thank you, and best wishes to all.

JAG on CBS -- dede925, 07:59:01 07/29/05 Fri
- I think CBS is done showing JAG for good....the reruns I bet haven't been garnering the ratings that CBS wants of its reruns (just a guess here) & that IMHO is why they've pulled the last episodes of JAG that were supposed to air in favor of some other shows. I'm not impressed with CBS, Les Moonves or the upcoming CBS shows for the Fall, LOL! (NT) -- JNTS, 17:02:34 08/01/05 Mon
Quality shows are truly fading in TV. I miss CB too because she's the most versatile on Jag,she's like the Jack Bauer,Sydney Bristow,Batman,Spiderman,Superman who was given so much by TPTB before she really found happiness. She's more than a pretty face and a sexy body.I just think she's among the many underrated actress/actor in the biz.I hope better things are in store for her and maybe someday her chemistry with Elliott onscreen will be rekindled in another joint project.WOOHOO Catherine. (NT) -- Greg, 18:06:39 08/01/05 Mon
- Sucks what CBS did to Jag.Oh well too late blaming on DB and CBS now.LOL! ITA Greg and my friend who is new to Jag ask me this weekend if the Jag writers hate women.LMAO! (NT) -- M, 18:09:02 08/01/05 Mon
- Im also a nonshipper no more and a huge fan of Harm and Mac now.Their chemistry was the most infuriating oversight by the Jag showrunners. (NT) -- Jessica -proud to be a Harm/Mac shipper, 16:22:10 08/02/05 Tue

Hey yall! I have been hearing the 3 "JAG" songs ALOT lately-- I know 'You and Me' and '2AM' are fairly new so that is why they are playing those alot (ahh it's nice to picture Harm and Mac when these songs play :)) BUT '100 Years' is kind of an old song--- I have heard that one played lots recently-- is it a coincidence since that was the song CLEARLY heard on JAG's finale??? :) Hmmm maybe alot more JAG fans out there than was realized (especially young fans since it is played on the hipper stations). Where did DB get the idea that the fans are older? I was 22 when I started watching JAG and am now 30. Ahh well... JAG rocked and will always be my favorite show :) As long as I have my videos, JAG will always live on! Now if only USA would play them more often!! :)

- The aggravating snub by DPB annually was a tired old blood esp on Harm and Mac. This two really clicked onscreen so the ending was a positive breakthrough for me and as a nonshipper I even got into the shipper tent.LOL! They could have hooked up Harm and Mac sooner and the show would have stayed longer on CBS. As for the age factor, -- Glenn, 02:37:01 07/24/05 Sun
- They play Lifehouse "You and Me" at my work all the time. All i think about is Harm and Mac when i hear that song. It makes it very hard to concentrate on what i am doing!! (NT) -- Rachelle, 19:18:52 07/24/05 Sun
- I love the Jag ending too but Im not gonna lie that I liked more to have happened with Harm and Mac.Still,Im glad they have a happy ending stuff where fairytales are made of and Jag went out with some dignity left. (NT) -- Sasha, 20:21:35 07/27/05 Wed
Its safe to say Jag do have some young watchers, not a lot but they're around. My sister in law's son watches it for CBell. The best part of the Jag ending is seeing Harm and Mac so happy also makes fans happy.CBell is my favorite too because she always gives a winning charming performance and the sorrow and hardships of her life in Jag is always felt and in full effect. Does anyone know what Mikey said to Harm when they shook hands outside after discussing Cami in the series finale?
For some reason it's distorted on my TiVo-ed version. Everytime I go back to play it it comes out metallic sounding.
Thanks for your help!
