Hey everyone!! Wow I haven't really been on here since the series premire, but I was looking JAG up on wikipedia.com tonight and decided I missed you all!!!! I've been watching the reruns on USA every morning at 8 am, since it's summer, no school.
So guess what, I'm definitely SEVENTEEN now, not twelve anymore, lol. I'll be a senior in High School when classes start again, and I'm actually going part time to college.
But off the personal stuff, who's excited for the release of JAG on DVD (**FINALLY**)???? You know, I never really got into season 1 but I'm actually really excited for it to be released just because... It's JAG!!!! Wow, I still remember HTML.
So do people still come around here? I'm sad I didn't have a fanfest to go to this year, lol, I haven't been to Washington DC in almost a year! Hey does anyone remember Mindy who used to post here? Well I met her in DC last summer, I have the cutest picture of us in front of the whitehouse, it was so awesome.
OK well I was just stopping by to say hi to everyone, you guys rock socks, and I miss you all like crazy... I'll try to stop by more. I'm about to go on a trip to Mississippi (for missions) for a week but after that I'll try to come around. See you guys later. Oh and my email's on there if anyone wants it...
Katie (aka JF1... wow that brings back memories, lol!)
PS: so sorry if this double/triple posts, the board is acting up...

Did You stay up until 3am this morning to watch all eight episodes of JAG?
I made it 'til 1am (Jagathon is always worth it for me) then recorded Capital Crime and Friendly Fire.
It's amazing how much better my Hallmark channel reception is as opposed to CBS. I am noticing alot more in "the looks" and just cues in general.
"Hail and Farewell" was on at 7 tonight and I loved it.
Is anyone else watching?

- Question about DJE and CB -- McMax, 14:51:07 06/02/06 Fri
I have read that neither of their pilots were picked up. Can any one confirm that?

- Its true....ABC picked up I believe 12 pilots, & DJE's for whatever reason was out of the running pretty early on....CBS picked up 4 (with maybe another two as mid season), but CB's wasn't one of them. Its a shame IMHO, both sounded interesting....CBS IMHO was the tougher sell because they had fewer slots, & after reading some of the titles ABC picked over DJE's, well let's just say I'm shaking my head at both ABC & CBS's choices....Sigh...I hope both land something soon to get them back on the smallscreen! - Just incase anyone is still lurking here -- Daisys Dtr, 22:53:29 02/23/06 Thu
The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films has released its nominations for the 32nd Saturn Awards, to be given out May 2, 2006 in Universal City, California. The Stargate franchise picked up a total of four nominations in this year's prestigious genre awards.
Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis were both nominated in the Best Syndicated/Cable TV Series category, just as they were last year. SG-1 has won the award three times -- in 2000, 2004, and 2005.
Other contenders include Battlestar Galactica, The Closer, The 4400, and Nip/Tuck.
Ben Browder (Cameron Mitchell) received a nomination in the Best Actor On Television category, an award he won in 2005 for Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars and in 2002 for Farscape the series. His competition includes William Fichtner (Invasion), Matthew Fox (Lost), Jilian McMahon (Nip/Tuck), Wentworth Miller (Prison Break), and Tom Welling (Smallville).
Finally, Claudia Black (Vala Mal Doran) earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actress On Television for her recurring role on SG-1 this season. She took home the Saturn for Best Actress on TV in 2005 for Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars.
Catherine Bell (The Triangle), Allison Mack (Smallville), Michelle Rodriguez (Lost), Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) and Erica Durance (Smallville) were also nominated in this category. Durance is a Stargate SG-1 alum, having played Krista in Season Eight's "Affinity."

Before they go... -- Luoodles, 18:55:39 01/12/06 Thu
The elderly parking lot attendant wasn't in a good mood. Neither was Sam Bierstock. It was around 1 a.m., and Bierstock, a Delray Beach, Fla., eye doctor, business consultant, corporate speaker and musician, was bone tired after appearing at an event. He pulled up in his car, and the parking attendant began to speak.
"I took two bullets for this country and look what I'm doing," he said bitterly. At first, Bierstock didn't know what to say to the World War II veteran. But he rolled down his window and told the man, "Really, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you." Then the old soldier began to cry. "That really got to me," Bierstock says.
Bierstock, 58, and John Melnick, 54, of Pompano Beach - a member of Bierstock's band, Dr. Sam and the Managed Care Band - have written a song inspired by that old soldier in the airport parking lot. The mournful "Before You Go" does more than salute those who fought in WWII. It encourages people to go out of their way to thank the aging warriors before they die. "If we had lost that particular war, our whole way of life would have been shot," says Bierstock, who plays harmonica. "Every ethnic minority would be dead. And the old vets are now dying at the rate of about 2,000 every day. I thought we needed to thank them."
The song is striking a chord. Within four days of Bierstock placing it on the Web, the song and accompanying photo essay have bounced around nine countries, producing tears and heartfelt thanks from veterans, their sons and daughters and grandchildren. "It made me cry," wrote one veteran's son. Another sent an e-mail saying that only after his father consumed several glasses of wine would he discuss "the unspeakable horrors" he and other soldiers had witnessed in places such as Anzio, Iwo Jima, Bataan and Omaha Beach. "I can never thank them enough," the son wrote. "Thank you for thinking about them."
Bierstock and Melnick thought about shipping it off to a professional singer, maybe a Lee Greenwood type, but because time was running out for so many veterans, they decided it was best to release it quickly, for free, on the Web. They've sent the song to Sen. John McCain and others in Washington. Already they have been invited to perform it in Houston for a Veterans Day tribute - this after just a few days on the Web. They hope every veteran in America gets a chance to hear it.
Amen and thank you.

This is not the first time I have heard a door reffered to as a hatch. A hatch is a door between decks and a door is between buklheads. OK, in the last scene of J.A.G., you tossed a coin to determine whether Mac or Harm would resign their commission. Which was it?
Bell: Come on, Mac won. Mac has got to stay in the Marine Corps. What would she do if she wasn't a Marine? Yah, Harm comes down to San Diego, wears the apron, cooks and cleans, raises the kids for her. That's my version of it, anyway.

- Got to love that response! Works for me. (NT) -- Cristina, 16:57:38 10/27/05 Thu
- I do think Harm was in "a place" where he could do the Mr Mom thing. Just remember him dropping of Mattie at school and how he was always cooking for Mac. Did we ever see Mac cook for Harm? Besides Harm has so many other interests I do not think he would get bored. (NT) -- Lucky, 20:34:21 10/27/05 Thu
- Exactly - if Mac stays home how are the kids going to get fed? Yes Harm might feed them his famous meatless meatloaf, but.... I've always been able to see Harm as a bit of Mr. Mom than to see Mac give up the Marines (NT) -- Aria, 15:46:14 10/31/05 Mon
- Actually Harm has only cooked for Mac a couple of times. Harm only cooks for Mac in Fanfiction..lol. That's what cracks me up about the comparison between fanfiction & what actually happened on the show. Mac actually did cook for herself & they showed this in the earlier seasons, she made a pot roast as well as other things & cooked that nice meal for Webb. The only thing I've ever seen Harm cook is spaghetti..lol, & fish once for Mac. BUT fanfiction has him portrayed as this gourmet cook..lol. Not So..lol. (NT) -- Kathy (Who thinks it's funny how Fanfiction can distort what happened on the actual series), 09:55:03 11/01/05 Tue
- Both characters are single & Both do alot of take-out. Harm even admitted it to the Social Worker. I loved this article and I agree with CB's ending..lol. He's not a behind the desk kind of guy and he needs to take care of his Mattie with all her issues. After all he decided to adopt her. (NT) -- Kathy, 09:57:14 11/01/05 Tue
- True enough - but I think its more their personalities that made folks do that in fanfiction and then make us think that.... because it somehow it just seems right that harm is the more domestic one (after all I have not read THAT much shipper fic in my life, mostly non-shipper fic - and yet I still have this picture in my mind of Harm being the one who cooks) (NT) -- Aria, 12:52:11 11/02/05 Wed
- I see what you're saying, but in the same sense, I don't see Harm domesticated at all. He wasn't really there for Mattie as a guardian, Coates was. He had his moments, but I never found him very warm and loving. He has never looked comfortable showing love and emotion. He's always appeared reserved to me. Mac has always shown her loving, caring domesticated side. With her friends, clients, Chloe, etc. She's always been more loving and easily shown that love and compassion. (NT) -- Kathy, 13:29:45 11/02/05 Wed
- I've read alot of fanfiction, (some I wished I hadn't & stopped reading as well..lol). In my opinion there are "very few" authors out there that "truly" capture the essence of both characters. I've actually stopped reading any new stuff & really gone back & read the older stuff, b/c the authors of yesterday captured the essence of both characters. Now the stories are all the same, Harm saves the day, he saves Mac from herself (gag), he basically walks on water, & to me that's unrealistic & not good reading. So I choose not to read the new stuff. jmho. (NT) -- Kathy, 13:48:11 11/02/05 Wed
- True enough - I stopped watching about the time of the Mattie stuff, so I guess that didn't really work in there... Personally Harm is still on my "bad list" from the "all Mac's boyfriends" line - so my view of him being a tad more domestic is not meant as a compliment (nor is it an insult, LOL) - and yes we get too much Teflon Harm... (NT) -- Aria, 01:31:05 11/04/05 Fri
LOLOL at this article. (NT) -- M, 00:15:57 10/30/05 Sun

'Raging Granny' Gets Marine Recruitment Letter
Thursday, October 20, 2005
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Sally-Alice Thompson had to laugh when she got a letter from the Marine Corps' commanding general, telling her the military "is in need of your service" and inviting her to find out more by sending in an enclosed card.
"What else could I do? I mean, I'm 82 years old," Thompson said.
Not only that, Thompson is a well-known local peace activist who is a charter member of the Center for Peace & Justice in Albuquerque and belongs to Veterans for Peace and Raging Grannies.
So instead of sending in the card, she plans to visit the Marine recruiting center with other Raging Grannies, which Thompson describes as "a group of women unhappy about wars of aggression and about nuclear armaments."
"I don't know what kind of reception we'll get," said Thompson, who served in the Navy in World War II.
She began questioning government actions when the United States went to war in Vietnam. She's since taken part in the Great Peace March of 1986 across the United States, participated in a similar march from Leningrad to Moscow the following year. She's been in more than a dozen marches since President Bush took office and went to Crawford, Texas, in August in support of anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan when Sheehan tried to talk with the president on his vacation to Texas.
The letter from Brig. Gen. Walter E. Gaskin told Thompson that "now is the time to put your unique language skills to the test as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. Your command of the Arabic language will be invaluable among the elite few."
Thompson, who said she knows two words of Arabic, said she has no idea why she got the letter.
But she's heard similar stories.
"A number of older women have been getting these letters," she said. "So I think someone is pulling the Marines' leg."

Harm's award ceremonies -- Bettina, 13:22:15 09/30/05 Fri
Hello there :)
I just read a story that deals with Harm's flying and the accomplishments - amongst other things. Well, there's a train of thought that's been dormant for a long time and now I finally get to ask here!
As far as I can remember, Harm & Mac first met in the White House Rose Garden after an award-ceremony for his first DFC for saving Tom Boone's life and the plane with it - right? Then he earned a second DFC for this tail-hook-push while he changed his designator and was back in a fighter squadron - and the 'ceremony' was something very small in the JAG-yard, right?
Well, there's also been a Silver Star later on for him saving the Seahawk from a nuclear missile. IIRC this one was awarded by his CO as well.
Now ... I'm just a tiny bit confused as to why especially this first DFC was awarded by the President itself while the others were probably no more than a hush-hush thing in the lunch-break. I admit that I cannot clearly remember any of these three ceremonies but in my opinion, there was too much artistic freedom just to bring Mac in the show.
Finally finished typing .. but this thing has bugged me for a long time.
Regards,
Bettina

JAG 2.0 - A JAG quiz game of sorts... -- Nid, 05:18:55 10/14/05 Fri
I have created a kind of JAG quiz online at
http://www.geocities.com/nidhij1224/jag/jagindex.htm
There are only five levels, so if you have some time please let me know what you think. The format of this quiz is similar to other online games such as notpron, except a lot easier and less creative. For those not familiar with this format, here's a basic rundown:
The answer to whatever question or riddle posed on a webpage is entered after 'http://www.geocities.com/nidhij1224/jag/'
It is entered in all lowercase and with no spaces. For example, if the answer is David James Elliot, the URL would look like this:
http://www.geocities.com/nidhij1224/jag/davidjameselliot
So you only have to manipulate the last part of the URL to enter your answer. A correct answer will take you to the next level. An incorrect answer will likely get you a 404 page (or whatever Yahoo! uses)
The questions, however, are not always posed in a straightforward fashion. Look at the title to help you figure out what it's looking for. There are also hints on certain pages that can be seen by selecting the text after "Hint:". There's nothing hidden in the source code, so don't look (my HTML is horrible). Most importantly, I just hope you enjoy playing and that it brings back some good old JAG memories.
Drop me an email with "JAG" in the subject line if you need any hints or if there's a glitch. Feel free to discuss it on the board(s), too. I'll take any kind of feedback. :o)
PS. Please use the exact FIRST link provided above. Going up one level takes all the fun out of it (thanks Geocities).

- I met Catherine Bell today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -- Kacy, 20:48:11 09/26/05 Mon
We have been vacationing in L.A. since Sept. 21st and our flight back to Atlanta was this morning. We were in the Delta section of LAX and my mom was in the McDonald's in line to get coffee and I was standing just outside. I was looking toward our gate when I heard a familiar voice saying, "yaaa, McDonald's!," and I turned around just in time to catch the side of Catherine's face as she was wheeling Gemma into McDonald's! I followed her in and she was standing right behind my mom. I whispered frantically to my mom, "Catherine Bell from Jag is standing right behind you!" My mom then turns around and says hello to her and she was very nice. She said that she was "incognito with her kid." She's super sweet and sooo beautiful! Gemma is a cutie, she was wearing ballerina slippers. Catherine had a lady with her who I guess is her assistant. The lady was nice also and had a thick accent of some kind. She had kind of long brown hair and was in her 30's I guess.
I just thought it was so awesome to see her at LAX McDonald's of all places. She got on a flight to Tampa, Fl.

- I know! I was so excited! I have been wanting to meet her for years and who would have thought that it would happen at an airport McDonald's! I'm kind of in shock about it, lol. (NT) -- Kacy, 09:19:48 09/27/05 Tue
- Kacy, what time did this occur ? I was in the same terminal waiting for my flight back to NJ . Tell me I didn't miss her by just a few split seconds , please. (NT) -- Marco wondering how he could have missed CB, 13:43:05 09/27/05 Tue
- It was between 9am and prob. 10:30am. Our flight left at 11am and Catherine's left not too long before ours. We were at gate 57 and Catherine was across from us. A plane headed for Orlando was at the gate next to hers. We got there fairly early and had been there for a bit before we saw her. (NT) -- Kacy, 13:56:16 09/27/05 Tue
- What a cool story. (NT) -- AndieK, 14:04:22 09/27/05 Tue
- Kathy, I read your post over at the Mac Board and all your additional ones. So Cool! Your comment about your mom and you saying, "God, She's So Gorgeous" reinterates what alot of others that have met her have said. And she wasn't wearing any makeup on their encounters either. Also you've backed up everone elses opinion of how sweet she is too. I'm so jealous and I hope to get to meet her some day. (NT) -- Kathy, 15:04:04 09/27/05 Tue
- The person with Catherine does sound like her PA, Adriana. She is super nice as well! Great story Kacy, sounds like great way to end your fanfest weekend! (NT) -- JNTS, 15:08:30 09/27/05 Tue
- Hey Marco, I know what you mean..I was in terminal 4, next to her terminal 5. I almost flew Delta too, man that would have completed my great fanfest weekend. I'm not as upset since I've met her, but it would have been great to say hello!.. Had a blast a fanfest and seeing all the "Jag sites" especially McMurphy's and Red Cross Bldg. Had fun seeing all my friends too. Glad you got to meet her Kacy, she is truely an amazing, beautiful and sweet lady! (NT) -- Carla, 15:11:18 09/27/05 Tue
- LOL, I wasn't even at Fanfest. I didn't realize that it was going on while I was out there. (NT) -- Kacy, 15:27:57 09/27/05 Tue
That's freaking fantastic Kacy.Im happy for you. (NT) -- Muzby, 15:58:40 09/27/05 Tue
- Yep , it was then. I was there around 10:30 11:00 sitting at the Delta gates across from the Starbucks cause the Continental seats were all taken . If only I had been there earlier... Oh well , like I said , It's not meant to be. (NT) -- Marco :(........., 17:09:17 09/27/05 Tue
- Did you ask about any future projects? (NT) -- McMax, 18:14:44 09/27/05 Tue
- No, I didn't ask her about any future projects because I didn't want to create a scene or anything since she was with Gemma. There were only 2 other guys who noticed or recognized her, that I could tell. The guys went to the gate where she was sitting and were like watching her like a hawk. They were also talking on their cell phones, probably telling everyone they know that they saw Catherine, lol. (NT) -- Kacy, 19:24:17 09/27/05 Tue
- Marco, I don't recall there being a Starbucks at the Delta terminal. Actually my mom and I went to the McDonald's because we didn't see a Starbucks and she couldn't find any decent coffee, lol. (NT) -- Kacy, 19:25:52 09/27/05 Tue
- I enjoyed this Kacy and you must be in 7th Heaven.*lol* (NT) -- Nina, 19:32:10 09/27/05 Tue
- Kacy, My apologies. I was in terminal 6. On the one side I see the Delta and Song planes and there is also a Delta gate on that side as well. The Starbucks is in T6 and with me seeing the Delta signs and sitting in that area I was wrong in my judgement in being in the same Terminal as Catherine . I'm sorry. But as I said before , so slose yet so far away. (NT) -- Marco, 22:10:00 09/27/05 Tue
OH !! MY I missed seeing her also since my flight for at gate 58 leaving for New York I saw people boarding for the flight to Florida but didn't pay much attention since I was on the phone to my office. (NT) -- observer, 05:16:13 09/28/05 Wed
- I wonna meet her too. Bummer I know. Thanks to Kacy for this CB news. (NT) -- Dave, 22:15:43 09/28/05 Wed
- Very cool and how nice of you to share this CB encounter of yours. (NT) -- Ethel, 20:32:53 09/29/05 Thu
- Questions for Fanfest -- McMax, 14:39:54 09/24/05 Sat
I would like for anybody going to the Fanfest to ask these questions of the people from the show such as Charles Floyd Johnson.
1. Why did you not let AJ and Meredith get married? A new wife would have been just one more incentive for retirement and a more positive one that just having enough. A wedding also would've been more uplifting that the dining-in was. JMJ was leavening the show any way and this would have been better ending for AJ than him just going off alone into the night like he did. Why did you do it the way you did?
2. Why was there no scene between Mac and AJ when the Admiral was say good-bye to the staff? I know why there was no scene with Harm. DPB had already decided to get rid of DJE, that meant getting rid of Harmon Rabb and to do that DPB had to sever all the connections between Harm and all the other characters. That's why they abandoned him at his murder trial and Mac monstrous ingratitude for Paraguay and for her treating him like crap for three years. The animosity from Sturgis and that Bud and Harriet just disappeared from his life and that Harm and AJ had nothing more that a professional relationship. But nothing with Mac?
3. Why did you do what you did to Maddie at the end? The Maddie storyline had been ended with her returning to her father so why the crash and the abandonment by him knowing that JAG was over and this would be resolved?
Thanks to anyone who asks these!

- Final Thoughts and Fairwell -- Randy, 23:30:23 08/27/05 Sat
Hello to all JAG fans. First, I wish to belatedly thank the creators and producers of JAG for an exciting, intriguing, and thought provoking entertainment. The show held my interest and loyalty. My purpose is to post my thoughts on the JAG ending and the series in general before this fan site is removed from the web. I realize that I might I expressed my thoughts previous posts; please forgive me.
First, given the episodes for the last two years (since Mac and Harm’s returned from Paraguay) the last show as a stand-alone episode, was superb. I appreciated and was intrigued by the possibilities it offered to the audience and it was written with artistry, with a touch of the poet. However, I did feel a sense of relief that the (my belief) one and a half to two “years in the wilderness” of depressing shows was over. I felt that the Harm/Mac relationship was dragged out and “resolved” only when the show concluded, i.e., it was artificially timed-out. The last year could have been a transition year to an ensemble cast.
Mr. Belarsarius stated that he would not repeat the Harm/Mac theme on NCIS. NCIS has an ensemble cast not emphasizing one character over another. Thus, when one of the characters is killed (e.g. Kate) then another character can fill the position without hindering or altering the show’s theme. His other shows such as Magnum, PI, Quantum Leap, and JAG were driven by and centered around one individual, thus any event in the main character’s life was magnified and altered the show’s direction. I wish to politely opine that the Harm/Mac relationship was one of the drivers that made the show interesting, successful, and without it I doubt the show would have lasted ten years.
It was obvious that the show seemed to be in a transition to an ensemble cast by the introduction of new characters. However, the show could not move forward without resolving the Harm/Mac issue. It was the proverbial 800 pound gorilla sitting in the corner. The situation prevented me from wanting to understand the characters the producers introduced in the last year. It was unfortunate because I began to appreciate the new characters, their multi-dimensional personalities, and the transition just as the series was concluded by TPTB. The JAG concept far outweighs the lives and love interest of two people
An alternate series transition, and this is not 20/20 hind sight, would be to have H/M reconcile at the admiral’s wedding. Forgive me if I am repeating myself from a previous post, however, I still believe that the path the writers(?) chose for the Admiral/Meredith issue was unnecessarily dark and depressing at the time when some levity was needed by the series. The successful JAG recipe was the mixture of humor with the extremely serious issues of national security, war, and military life. The “What If” episode illustrated ‘what should have been’ with the Admiral and Meredith. I propose that Harm and Mac could have reconciled at the Admiral’s wedding. (kiss, dance together, or merely hold hands) would have reduced the uncertainty and implied to the audience and fans that they were working on “it” Personally, the Mac/Webb relationship never had the chemistry and was filler. Then the next year, S10, they could have been kept apart by their jobs, world and military events, while other characters were introduced to the audience.
In conclusion, I will miss JAG, specifically its sense of honor, duty, patriotism, and most importantly the pursuit of the truth no matter where it lead. Thank you, and best wishes to all.
