Subject: Paul: "How bad do you want this one?"

Scale of one to ten.

Although I always enjoy a Michigan victory, my life does not revolve around something as essentially trivial as the sporting accomplishments and failures of others (hi Fleetwood).

Although I really want Michigan to win, no outcome could shake my faith in the greatness of Lloyd Carr's coaching regime (you know who you are).

I'm usually pretty calm about this stuff, but this is a pretty big game. I would feel bad about a loss.

I want to win this game. A lot.

Wow, it's been a while since I've been this wound up about a UM game.

I can't work, I'm having trouble sleeping, and I've already had a couple of dreams about this game. We NEED to win this one.

I want this game more than any other on the schedule this season.

I hate those sanctimonious fuckers! I don't just want to win -- I want to blow them out by 40, and then post long messages about it on ND message boards. This is BY FAR the biggest Michigan game in several years. If we lose, it says something very negative about Lloyd Carr's tenure.

[Preverbal noises of rage and hatred]

I feel the same way about this as I did about the 1976 OSU game.
