It was a cool mention. Be wary of the people there, though. They're quite bitter. I was a member a long, long time ago, and they treated me poorly because I'm not a lesbian.

That thread got me here and reading, I'll never be able to thank scribegrrrl enough for posting that in her blog. Sorry to hear you got treated badly Amelia :( I don't really post enough on AfterEllen to know what the other members are like but I do know theres always a vocal minority on every site that tends to think they own the community and treat outsiders badly. In reality they're the outsiders, just do what I do and stare at their sad comments with barely concealed amusement and the knowledge that 1 day they'll find they don't have the communities respect or support. Btw, I'm the over-enthusiastic poster called SJ at the bottom of the page on that link lol.

Nice to meet you, Sarah. Recently, I was cast out of the AE Community, branded a liar. I've no intention of going back there and frankly, Scribegrrl's talents would be better off elsewhere.

I did read the posts with mild amusement. Also with a mild sick feeling to think strangers could still stoop to the level of attacking someone without really knowing them. Ah, the attributes of forums!

I have to admit that I'm a bit de-sensitised to narky posts, been a mmorpg fan for a long time lol and believe me when i say rp'ers are some of the worst in the drama causing department. Maybe one day people will realise theres real people and not just bots typing away at their keyboards and show some more restraint, respect and kindness.

Btw, fantastic story Gina, also have you ever thought of doing a 24th century 'internet' storyline? O_o Now that would be original to the Trek universe.. something like a holo-addiction story but about a crew member addicted to the 24th century version of MSN :D Not a main story of course lol, but a kinda side story with an appropiate twist at the end like the person they were chatting to being an AI.
Just an idea :)
