Subject: Let the "Big Head" Duke costume continue to hang in the closet. A duke is a real human being, not a bird, fruit, vegetable, color, or cartoon character. Our mascot needed be a caricature of a duke. Why not let the mascot be a student dressed in a black tuxedo with tails, a top hat, & walking stick. This was last done successfully in the mid '70s, I believe. It helps if the the person serving as the mascot can be animated & be a pretty good dancer. As part of the introduction of a "real person" Duke mascot, perhaps at half time there could be a burning of "Duke, the bear" costume.
