That's a good point.

I can remember distinctly that gas fell to $.99 a gallon in 1999, the year the X cam out. I think that had a lot to do with the popularity of the vehicle at that time. Gas was not even an issue. For years and years no one ever even looked at what sort of gas mileage a car got. There it was on the sticker of every new vehicle on the lot, and nobody even looked at it or thought about it.

At $4 a gallon, gas prices turn the automotive world upside down.


But I agree with you. Even at $4 a gallon, the Xterra has its place. Just not the same one it had at $1 a gallon.
