Date Posted: 11:58:08 04/19/03 Sat Reading is an integral part of my work, but recently much of what I've read has left me longing for something more. Often times as I finish a reading, Im left questioning the author's intent. Does the author percieve his or her self outside of whatever is being analyzed? Is he or she acting as a judge or as an integral part of the community? Im finding that deconstruction, subversion and irony arent as glamorous to me as they once were. Mel Chin said that subversion leaves no room for collaboration. My mom says it is better to build up than to tear down. Tina Turner says we dont need another hero. Im interested in a dialogue that exists somewhere inside of those three. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
