Subject: Well! My first voice-over audition!

Hmm. I'm still not quite sure what I think about it! This was the first time I've ever tried this. The director was really great. He worked with me a LOT! I got to do a BUNCH of different voice types that I didn't know I had! They ended the audition with telling me that they were actually going to use some of the stuff that they already got from me and are considering me for the voice for their special interviews/profiles! Whoa! This is VERY cool! I wish it was for a national commercial or something instead of an industrial, but I'm happy that being my first time I felt pretty good about it. One thing I did learn was that I got lucky getting a director that allowed me a lot of different takes to warm up on...BUT in the future I'm going to need to be "on" earlier than when I finally was. I held back quite a bit in the beginning (that fear of making an ass of myself hindered me), but it was when I sensed their lack of interest and turned things up (thinking what have I got to lose) that they started really listening to me! So, learned a lot today! I'll chalk this one down to a good acting experience!!
