I have just started a trial on Neurontin - I started at 400mg./day and over the next 2 weeks I am to increase to 2400mg/day. Currently I am at 1600mg/day and I feel a slight improvement in my chronic back pain. I have an implanted pain pump which they want to take out of me if the pills work but I do not like the side effects of this drug. I have tried it twice before but only low dose that had no effect. At this level I have the fuzzy feeling and constant nausea and hard to focus my eyes. I go back to see the doctor next week and I hope that he does not want to raise it anymore but he has said he would like me to try up to 3600mg/day but I just wish they could play with the pump dosage or the drug in the pump as when it was working for me previously it was set at 6.5mg/day of Dilaudid. An ass doctor loweed it 5 yrs ago from the 6.5 to 1.5mg/day and it has taken 2 more doctors and 5 yrs to get it back to 5.5mg/day and I have suffered all this time. I am alone and have lost everything from this chronic pain and I was hoping this new doctor would be my salvation and my last hope - But it doesn't look good and I just don't know how much more I can take. I hope you have better luck than I did and better doctors... Peace Reg
