Hi Tom I sure can understand your position as I have been in the same position for over 6 yrs. I moved to a new city to get a respected pump/pain doctor to take on my pump filling and maintenance. It took all my strength and money to make this move and the new neurosurgeon did not want anything to do with patients with pumps for back pain. He really put me thru the ringer by first overdosing me going from 3.0 to 7.5 and I ended up in the ER overdosed and the ER could not do anything for me as they do not use pumps. The pump doctor then lowered the pump from 7.5 back to 3.0 and I went into withdrawl and back to the ER. Only the pain/pump doctor I have has the medtronics equipent and there are no other pump doctors here and I'm really stuck and running out of hope to get out of here and find a helpful pain pump doctor. I suggest that if at possible try and find a pain doctor that will listen and try to help you and not sit there pretending he's listening when he really isn't and making major adjustments that are way above medtronics recommended treatment. I'm not sure were you are but there is a site called "DoctorsForPain" and it lists what are suppose to be good pain doctors that want to help. You put in your zip or postal code and city and it will come up with a list of doctors in your area. I hope that you find a doctor that has time to listen to you and keep you as comfortable as possible. "No One" should have to suffer. Make notes or a daily journal and take it with you to your appointments and even better take a tape recorder and a friend and tape the conversation so when you get home you can play it over and you have a record of what was said. They do weaken a bit if you take someone with you and might defulge what his treatment plan is for You. Cheers & Good Luck. shadowcda
