Subject: Graeylin's Military Trivia

11B1SG had the right and best answer, even though I was looking for more "Tyrone Power (USMC) and Allen Ladd (Army0" were heartthrob movie stars at the time, and had enlisted in the war effort.

As 11B1SG pointed out correctly, they did so just like millions of others, intent on doing their duty.

They were just a little more famous for it.

Today's question:

In 1967 Master Sergeant B.J. Dulinsky (USMC), who had volunteered for duty in Vietnam, reported to the Military Assistance Command in Saigon; nothing terribly unusual about that.

Except, it was unusual. What made this a historic first for the USMC?
