Subject: Tech question- historical

If a Limey wants to get drunk with friends, he goes to a pub. An American goes to a saloon/bar. A Kraut goes to a Hoffbrau or a Biergarten and a Mormon goes to hell- where does a Frenchman or woman of occupied France go? Assuming they don't have the $$$ for a Cabarét with show?
