Well even the worst employers are often the best option for gainful employment.
I have nothing against Starbucks myself , have never gone into one and don't expect to any time soon.
Charging what they do for a cuppa should be a crime no matter how good their product is supposed to be.
before I went to FC I worked in the coffee house at Fairleigh Dickinson Madison Campus and we made all the espresso and normal coffee beverages along with a few cold drinks that were coffee house traditions. That was a real coffee house where people came for conversation and entertainment not a cyber location for yuppies with prices to match.
Having worked for some and known some employers who were not the best but the only show in town so to speak I know that what you get out of it is what you put into it. Glad your niece had a good benefits package and could retain her position once she was recovered.
There is usually some good in evne the worst options and certainly Starbucks is not the worst by any means no matter what their record in any particular area happens to be. Still I would rather have regular coffee than any of their concoctions and have had some of the best and some of the worst coffee in my lifetime...
