Subject: More thoughts: I love the line "She's out colder than a dead smelt" It was shocking that Murtaugh considered killing Claire because he thought she was an "auld one" stealing Jamie's soul. I like the picture of rat-faced Rupert yelling that he's ready to marry Claire. Jamie looks good in the full Highland rig on his wedding day. Love the Badger sporran. I like the drawing of the wedding kiss. I laughed when I saw the toothmarks on Jamie's arm after he returns from "beating" Claire. I liked the time lapse frames as Ned Gowan talked from morning til night. Why doesnt Claire have scars from her flogging? The final scene at the stones..ahhh. Just my thoughts, I'd love to see your comments.

When Claire was whipped remember how Jamie chewed something green and spread it on her back - he said something about how she's not the only one who knows healing, and that the marks wouldn't last?. I think that it had to do with they type of whip used, they probably used a gentler sort on a woman, as well the soldiers at Fort William were out to both hurt and mark Jamie, they may have used a crueler than usual whip. -- jayn, 06:02:16 09/25/10 Sat

I think Claire didn't scar because the whip didn't actually break her skin-more like a belt whap, and was really only intended to shut her up and make her behave rather than punish her. Jamie's was an old style flogging, intended to break the skin and leave scars.
