[> I think I scared the poor UPS man but it was worth it. I loved the book. Not all the art was just how I picture things but overall I had no problem with it. I have absolutely no intention of nit-picking the art - it's a grownup comic book and the art reflects that. I do have one kind of 'huh' though - where did this whole Kenneth story come from? Did anyone expect that? And since Murtagh killed him I guess that line is over for good. (unless Diana plans to use him somehow into book 8, marybe Kenneth is related somehow to Rob Cameron and she was deliberately setting the groundwork for that). I was a tiny bit let down by the French girl story but maybe we built that up far more than Diana ever anticipated going with it. ps- I plan to rip out that rear-view page and glue it to by bedroom ceiling *G*. -- jayn, 10:41:52 09/21/10 Tue

[> [> LOL, Jayn - about the ceiling! Waiting for tonight and the launch party. Attending with Susan (H.E.) - well, we're supposed to meet there, but she's going to be doing a lot of running around today, and there's a crowd expected, so we might not manage it. But my ticket entitles me to a dual-autographed copy, so that's all to the good. And I know what I'll be doing tonight, for sure!!!! -- Ruthgold18, 11:17:03 09/21/10 Tue

[> [> just finished and I too, was wondering about the Kenneth story. I also found it interesting that in the graphic novel that Gellis'survival from being burned at the stake is revealed. -- LadyDuBois, 11:19:05 09/21/10 Tue

[> [> No doubt, very nice shot of Jamie from behind! You're right, though, the French girl story seemed a bit rushed and unfinished, but I guess the idea was to plant the guilt about possibly causing her death that he was unconsciously that much more protective of Claire. If that was her only purpose, then I guess it succeeded, otherwise I can see why Murtagh would just want to be done with her and not understand Jamie's protection of her. -- Missa, 15:07:06 09/21/10 Tue

[> I just finished it. Wow, I was impressed. I have never read a graphic novel before, so I was intrigued by the style. Kenneth is interesting - did we ever hear about him from Geille's husband in 1968? He did mention a few of her friends by name I thought. -- LadyBelle, 12:20:35 09/21/10 Tue

[> The Exile -- RitaG, 12:28:15 09/21/10 Tue

Raced to B&N this morning to buy The Exile and finished reading it before lunch! Impossible to improve on the original Outlander but the storyline additions and the beautiful pictures created a very enjoyable visual. Loved it.

[> I agree with your assessment of the unnamed girl in France aspect. I thought that it would be a bigger thing. Still don't know why Jamie wouldn't have asked her name? -- Cristina H, 12:55:36 09/21/10 Tue

[> Good to know! I've been hesitant to order it, not really sure about the medium (thinking -- I don't really like comic books???)and didn't know if I would get enough "new" material to make it worth it. Now I might just order it. Thanks!! -- AmyGirl, 12:58:02 09/21/10 Tue

[> Is it just me, or does Murtagh look a bit like Sean Bean in the beginning of the book? -- Traci_Mc, 19:36:36 09/21/10 Tue

[> [> Not sure about that but (don't hit me!) I'm having a tough time choosing between Jamie and Murtagh based on the pics here. -- jayn, 04:55:20 09/22/10 Wed

[> [> Yes, he does - and Diana referred to that last night at the Launch Party. Huang also said that he would have redone quite a few of the sketches if he'd been able. -- Ruthgold18, 08:23:35 09/22/10 Wed
