Subject: Maybe, I dont really see why he would bring it up... its interesting what we see as significant, that maybe isn't as important to the characters....

Another note on Frank and Jack Randall - We all know how awful Black Jack is...but its not really in the recorded history, I mean there's the nickname, and the records Frank is looking at seem to indicate that he was not so nice to the Scottish locals, but there's nothing to indicate to Frank what the reader (and Claire!) will know by the end of Outlander.

Think of what recorded history would say about the Notorious "Red Jamie" Fraser and the Jacobite Witch. Can you imagine Frank researching the name and finding those pamphlet touting him as a dangerous criminal? He even has the prison record to prove it. It just goes to show that just because you have some historical documents, artifacts, stories etc. doesn't mean you know the truth right? Kind of goes along with the "errors" in Rogers and Franks family trees...

Sorry for the long posts... I majored in English because I think reading books and discussing them is fun, and I can't seem to get my usual bookish friends (or my husband)to read these. So, I'm bursting with analysis and discussion... If I seem to argue, its only for the sake of discussion, no offense intended (and please, argue with me if you disagree with something! I don't mind in the least!)
