Subject: Lord John & The Plague of Zombies

I am about 6 pages into Lord John & the Zombies. All I can say is I feel like I've come home to a much loved placed that I didn't even know I missed until I returned. I have read...how many?...authors, good obscure ones, bad best-selling ones, and everything in between. No one, no one at all, does it like our Diana. the rhythym , the cadence, the wonderful, superlative use of language. If, by the second paragraph, you don't know you are reading Diana then you just don't deserve her. Who else can take five words to describe a character so well that you feel you've know that person all your life, and then spend another hundred words developing, without the least feeling of wordiness? The story is developing as well as you would think it should, I'm not really far enough into it to say if I think it's a good story or not (as if there is any doubt), but the joy of the writing itself is enough for now.

[> I just finished the story and really enjoyed seeing Lord John again. So many characters from previous books, Twelvetrees, Mrs. Abernathy, Ishmael, Tom Byrd..its like meeting up with old friends. I loved that Lord John had an erotic dream about our favorite redhead. I cant wait to read The Scottish Prisoner. -- CarolSR, 20:15:17 10/05/11 Wed

[> If any of you want to tell Diana what you think about "Plague of Zombies", please feel free to post on Compuserve. Link inside>>>> Diana is actively participating in that discussion, answering questions and clarifying things. -- Karen Henry, 16:17:47 10/06/11 Thu

The link to the main "Plague of Zombies" discussion on Compuserve is here:

WARNING! You will definitely encounter spoilers in that thread, so you may want to wait until you've finished the story.

Hope to see some of you over there soon!
