Subject: Confused by Cards versus Decks

I am a registered user of Vtrain, but I rarely use it becuase, so far, I find it extremely confusing as to the use of "cardfile" versus "decks."

I want to study multiple subjects, for example, history and Spanish.

I want to be able to study my notes for each chapter separately.

I understand that the cardfile is like a box you put your decks into.

I want to use a cardfile with five boxes for all of my decks.

But if I have a deck and open a cardfile (let us say it is called "Five Boxes"), the boxes will contain cards from another deck.

I do not want the other deck in that box. But unless I create a new cardfile, other decks are in the cardfile.

This is extremely confusing and difficult to manage.

Let me ask you this— does this mean that if I do not wish to mix decks together, I have to create a new cardfile every time I create a new deck?

This is counter intuitive. Since cardfiles are an intergral part of the program why do youhave it set up as a separate file?

What advantage to the user is there of havin a separate file?

I am hoping 5.5 fixes this problem.

Alan
