Please accept my apologies. My original message was far too critical. You guys take a lot of abuse in this forum, for a product that is really quite excellent. The thing that impresses me most about VTrain is how you've kept "feature creep" under control, while still making a tool that is understandable, easy-to-learn, and truly useful for all kinds of people studying different kinds of information. VTrain is exceptionally well-designed. (My specialization in grad school is human-computer interaction, so I have a strong opinion on these things!) Regarding my 2nd complaint, it is really quite graceful how you allow a "checked" and an "unchecked" training mode, without ever forcing the user to change any settings. I also like the way you allow a quick, batch import, but also allow a rich in-program editor, in order to suit different kinds of users using the program in different ways.
The pointer to AutoHotkey was useful. I had no trouble getting that to work.
I would just say that if you happen to reevaluate the keyboard layout for a future release, you might consider some kind of single-key operation for the Review mode. This is available in other software, so I guess that means users would find it useful. However, I understand keyboard support is tricky for both programming reasons (some keystrokes can't be trapped) and for design reasons (if you support a certain key mapping now, people will expect it in future releases).
