This happens because Windows 2k / XP forces applications to save data using the Arabic section of Unicode. If an application is not Unicode-enabled but is 'legacy' (ANSI-based) software, ??????? characters appear instead of non-Western characters when you reload the file.
VTrain 4.5 is not Unicode-enabled, since we wanted to keep it working with Windows 95 / 98 / ME users. VTrain 5.0 will be released in two flavors: Unicode-enabled (for Win 2k / XP) and not Unicode-enabled for older operation systems.

VTrain 5.0 will incorporate a rich-text import facility which will be compatible with Unicode. For information about when it is possible for the user to specify an encoding scheme, see the next message in this thread.
