Subject: air raid siren by the old police house crook hill

Anyone settle a debate
Can anyone tell me why the air raid siren by the old police house is still there and WHAT has been its purpose in the past?
Was it an Air Raid Warning in the war period, Accident warning for the Cwmtillery Colliery???
