I remember the siren being tested in the late 1950's early 1960's, but only on two occasions, living across the valley (before it was filled in) in Gwern Berthi Road, I remember the sound was ear pierceing, as well as frightening, as this was the height of the ''cold war'', lets pray they will never be heard again ,unless on some form of celebration!
