The photograph shown in album seventeen is of Cwmtillery rugby club, dated 1960/61 and not 1954. I played in that team and am sat second from the right next to Tommy Bevan.
Phyllis would appear to be slightly mistaken. The man sat down wearing the suit is Ossie Davies. He was one of the founder members of the rugby club. Ossie was married to Sylvi who was a wonderful lady. They had three sons, Mel, Roy and Densil. Densil was known as sos'. Reading from left to right in the backrow is Cyril Lewis, Bobby Coburn, Mel Collier, ??, Gary Cooper, Colin Coombes, Gwyn Buck (First aid man) Sitting middle row, Arthur Howells, (brother Roy captained Abertillery) Martin Day, Wayne Undewrwood?, Brian Coleman, Ken Hewitt, Ossie Davies, Lloyd Owen, Tony Sterry, myself, Tommy Bevan, and finally Tony Bull and John Jones.
