Not sure of the size of the bins until we recieve them I have ordered a large one in the event the smaller one won't be big enough if it is too big to get through the very small opening between our kitchen units it will have to be retuned for a smaller one. If that don't fit it stays on the pavement.

I think there are pro's and con's for the introduction of the bins and until we have tried it we are not going to know what the best option is. Piles of unsightly black bags also obstruct the pavements especially where I live since the pavements are very narrow, dogs and cats also rip them open or urinate all over them, many a time I have had to pick up and clean the rubbish where the bag has been broken.

For those with nowhere to store them however, will have to leave them on the fronts therefore it will not only be one day they will be causing obstruction but everyday. for those with steps it may well be easier I remember a time when I had to bunk a pram up and down steps although usually there was some kind soul around to offer a helping hand may well be easier than making several journeys up and down carrying bags which may again break open during the transportation leaving a mess to clean up.

They appear all set on fortnightly collection and I think I would prefere my rubbish kept in a bin rather than bags hanging around for my return for the rats to chew through and cats to piddle over. If you happen to be away on holiday they may well be left for a month.

Don't know what the solution could be other than larger community bins in each street, several if it is a long street where you could dispose of your rubbish daily if you wished.
