Subject: Greetings from Texas...

I have only begun to research my family history from the "lore" we were told growing up and I have to say how thrilled I am to see a website of the "village in Wales" that my great grandmother was born in!

Since my ancestors came from Wales over 100 years ago, to the coal mining areas of western Pennsylvania (which seems to look very similar), I have little hope that anyone may know anything of them. I am just wondering if there are any families with the same names left in Cwmtillery?

My greatgrandmother, Emma Beachum, was born there in the late 1800s. Also my great-great grandfather George Griffin came from there, or that area. It is unclear what year.

I hope to visit your town in the near future. Thanks for having the website!

Suzanne Griffin
