Personally, I'd be glad to be rid of an 84-86 Cherokee. I can't believe that a 2.8 V6 made it to 540,000 miles and is still going strong. It MUST have had some work or several replacements somewhere along the line.
Look at the bright side. The prices for 91-96 Cherokees with the HO 4.0 have become VERY affordable. And they seem like driving a drag race car compared to the 2.8l powered ones.
