i hear what you're saying. i scrapped my '92 explorer two years ago and it was a menace. it was full of rust. the suspension and exhaust were falling off and i didn't want to spend any more in a car that was rusting away. finally a cop put me out of my misery and gave me 72 hours to change the cracked windshield so i sold it for parts. i can say the engine was still good. i bought a nice old malibu for what i got for the explorer and i have to say it's a much better car. i'd get nervous driving the explorer on the highway. it's so top heavy you can't take chances with the suspension, tires, brakes. for sure kids will be picking up old SUV's to drive around and when the suspension starts going, they'll be flipping over, flying off the road and whatever else
