It usually takes a while for people to post their views. Sometimes days.

The time difference should not be an issue.

[> Some Notes -- Michael, 08:56:49 05/14/09 Thu (NoHost/148.129.129.154)

Family: Mostly a Tara-centered episode, although we get some movement on other plot arcs as well.

Buffy's Big Secret. At least she does tell Giles what she learned about Dawn. And gets Giles' acquiescence in the decision to keep the information from the others. It isn't clear whether he agrees with her or just thinks it's her call.

Still, past precedent suggests that keeping these sorts of secrets has a tendency to cause problems. It's already become an additional irritant in the Buffy-Riley relationship as he correctly perceives she's hiding something important from him (and likely doesn't realize she's hiding the same thing from Xander and Willow). Not that Riley was showing wise behavior himself--his regular visits to the demon bar have been going on for some time.

And while Buffy is worried about the other's acting "weird" around Dawn, she needs to be more careful about that herself...

"If there was something, I figured she'd call us." Yeah right. So Willow, you've known Buffy for how long?

"What kind of demon is she? There's a lot of different kinds. Some are very, very evil. And some have been considered to be useful members of society." Nice little Anya-ism.

Spike still fighting with his crush. Fantasizing about Buffy. Going out to save Buffy's life almost against his own will. Although I think he rather likes that he came up with his "test" of Tara.

And we get a hint that there may be a connection between Ben and Glory.

The main plotline, however centers on Tara. And her transition from feeling (and being perceived as by most of the Scoobies) somewhat of an outsider to being "one of the family".

Lots of nice little moments. The Willow-Tara scene at the beginning. Tara's panic and her distress when she realizes what her spell has REALLY done. Buffy basically adopting her into the Scooby family.

And we close on the party. And on Willow and Tara literally floating on air.

Guise Will Be Guise: Angel goes to a swami and Wesley pretends to be Angel.

The fake Swami did seem rather perceptive. Or did a really good job of gathering information about Angel.

And Wesley gets to act the boss. And gets a new girlfriend out of the situation.

And we close on Cordelia and Angel getting a little jealous over Wesley's new fame.

[> Worth it just for one scene. -- Grim ,_,_), 08:53:28 05/18/09 Mon (neilsonco.com/66.253.31.226)

An unusual story in the Buffyverse and worth it for the final scene of the Scoobies facing down Tara's family.

What a bunch of jerks they turned out to be, huh? For once, the people we thought were evil, wicked, mean and nasty, were exactly that. Way to go with the misleading.

It also shows the lengths that Buffy will go to to protect anybody she sees as worthy of that protection. Dawn sees some of this too, and I think it's the glue that will hold them all together throughout the rest of the season.
