I really liked Michelle's acting in this one, especially when she came in with the knife after having cut herself. very affecting... Then they made her say, "Getoutgetoutgetout!" for the first time.

*sigh*

That line doesn't look good on ANYbody's resume.

Still a pretty deep episode and things happen to carry along the arc nicely. Dawn finds out who, though not exactly what, she is (or is that the other way around?). The knights are shown to be completely ineffective against their big enemy. Mom is apparently getting better. Spoike is doing things because they are the right thing to do (sometimes). Willow is getting pretty durned powerful. And there was something about Ben and Glory, but I can't quite remember what it is right now...

Also, dropping Glory from 2000 feet up? Priceless. The quiet, long shot of her descent is hilarious.

Finally, Spoike can't pick up the troll hammer yet he tosses the lid of the crypt he's in as if it were papier mache. That's one HEAVY hammer, which of course will come in handy a bit later.

Blood Ties: Buffy's birthday, so you just know something it going to spoil the celebration. In this case, it's Dawn finally learning that she's the Key.

Buffy finally tells the others about Dawn. And even admits she should have told them sooner.

I'm sure this new attitude will carry over to the next time she has a big secret. :-)

On the whole Buffy handles this episode's situation reasonably well (although Joyce has a point when she tells Buffy that Dawn needs her sister not the Slayer).

Willow: Mostly a supporting role, although there are more signs of increasing power.

And we learn that there is a direct physical connection between Ben and Glory, although they do not have access to each other's memories. There's also a hint that something prevents other humans from realizing the connection.

The Knights of Byzantium show up again. As usual, they don't do anything particularly effective against Glory.

Spike still trying to be helpful. Even has a good point about Dawn's reaction not being his fault.

Dawn: Basically learns she's adopted. Times two. Squared. Understandably freaks out a bit at the news. She was clever in how she played for time with Glory.

And we close on Buffy and Dawn bonding.

Happy Anniversary: We learn that Angel is a beige. Or something like that.

Fun verbal interplay between the Host and Angel, with the Host nudging him in the direction of his friends.

And the rest of the gang starts getting their business off the ground. With the help of Wesley's girlfriend Virginia. Like Wesley's little detective routine.

And apparently Wesley has a major role in some future events...
