Subject: Rewatching Buffy: Bargaining (part 2)

Don't forget! Tonight at 8 pm we continue rewatching the entire series of Buffy the Vampire Slayer with season 6, episode 2: "Bargaining (part 2)" and Angel with season 3, episode 2: "That Vision Thing."

The conclusion of Buffy's return from the dead. Then, on Angel, W&H are up to their old tricks.

Hope you can stop by for the discussion, which continues here.

Bargaining, Part II: Buffy returns from the dead.

Buffy: Awakens to one of her worst nightmares (as in the episode "Nightmares"). And in a daze for basically the entire episode. Having to dig herself out of her own grave didn't help but the real problem is a combination of the depression she was already primed for at the end of S5 and the contrast between the "heaven" she felt she was in and the present reality. She still has her combat instincts and she recognizes and responds to Dawn, but just barely.

And most of the Scoobies deal with the aftermath of the interrupted ritual. Xander and Willow, Anya and Tara wandering around the forest. Once they all do find each other Willow does try to rally them.

And then they go out into the streets of Sunnydale. Where they run into Buffy. And figure out just what happened to her and what she had to do. Somewhat of a preview of the later reveal in "Once More With Feeling".

Note that Tara earlier uses the guiding spell first introduced in "Fear, Itself".

Spike continues to be obsessively protective of Dawn. Not entirely a bad thing on the Hellmouth.

Dawn herself sees that her sister, her real sister has returned, but is almost unable to get through to her.

And we close on Dawn hugging Buffy who just stares...

That Vision Thing: Cordy's visions start to even more seriously hurt her.

THIS time it's due to interference by W&H. But, even without that, the visions are still having worse side effects.

Angel meanwhile makes a deal with the devil (so to speak), freeing someone he knows is bad in order to save Cordelia.

And we close on a very pregnant Darla. About to leave for a visit to Angel. Who is the baby's father.
