Subject: Some Notes

Where the Wild Things Are: Mostly a stand-alone. Do get some indication that Adam's plan is moving forward.

Buffy/Riley: Mostly in the background, even though their ... involvement is powering the spirits. Note the gradual shift from what seems like (and maybe is) ordinary amorousness to a spirit-driven obsession.

(Also their extremely unconvincing statement that their lack of control was "horrible".)

Xander/Anya. Another of their periodic misunderstandings and reconciliations. They do get to be heroes this time.

Willow/Tara. Always like their interactions. Note Willow's puzzlement when a romantic overture gets an odd reaction.

There's a parallelism between Riley's dripping water scene and Willow's--until Willow sees the ghost.

Incidentally, the Saturday Night Live appearance may have been the one that started rumors that Aly was leaving the show. At whichever one it was, Sarah held up a sign at one point that said "I miss you, Aly" (or something like that) and some viewers jumped to the wrong conclusion.

Confirmation that Willow used to have a crush on Giles. Note the marked difference in the reaction of Xander and the reactions of Willow, Anya, and even Tara.

Also some Spike/Anya bonding.

And I like how Spike starts to be heroic until he talks himself out of it.

Five by Five: Faith pays a visit to Los Angeles.

Cordelia REALLY needs to start paying attention when Dennis tries to keep her out of the apartment.

We also get more backstory on Angel. Including his reactions to newly being ensouled.

Faith starts by going on a spree, trying to enjoy causing chaos all around her. A strong hint from the Angel backstory that Faith is doing something similar to him--trying to go back to old habits that she no longer enjoys.

Note how readily Faith "agrees" to kill Angel. I think she's already decided at that point--she's not really trying to kill him, she's trying to get him angry enough to kill her.

And we close on Faith sobbing in Angel's arms, begging him to kill her.

My mother always told me that if i can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

That being said, "Where the Wild Things Are" was an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
