So nice to see Oz back in action with the scoobies. So sad to see him go out in such a fashion.

sigh

Willow is now a lesbian. No judgement on this, just a fact.

Riley has broken off has engagement with The Initiatve. I'm glad they hadn't announced a date yet. "Anarchist!"

Amber Benson is really doing a good job with her character here. She gets the nervous factor down perfectly and yet I still manage to like her. I'm glad SOMEbody in the cast eats a sandwich from time to time.

Giles needs a job. How else is he going to afford that swanky little abode of his?

Can Anya stop talking now? Please?

New Moon Rising: Transitional episode. Oz returns and then leaves again. Willow and Tara go public. At least to Buffy. Riley breaks fully with the Initiative and learns more about Buffy's past.

Oz. Of course he's going to return at one of the worst possible times. And learns that his control over his wolfy side isn't quite as firm as he thinks. At least not when he's around Willow.

Willow. She's been slowly falling in love with Tara. And finally brings her to a Scooby meeting. And then Oz returns.

Suspect that Willow was going to choose Tara eventually anyway, but Oz's wolfing out clinched it.

Willow's last conversation with Oz. Some echos of their previous goodbye scene. Except that this time both of them know that it's for the best. And for the foreseeable future.

"It was my fault. I upset you." Context matters. Willow has already chosen to stay with Tara. She likely knows that Oz is leaving town and she may never see him again. And so she tries to console a friend, someone she still cares about even though she isn't in love with any more.

Tara. Both her insecurities and her strong love for Willow show clearly throughout this episode.

Riley's wiggins over Willow's relationship. Which upsets Buffy for reasons that have little to do with Willow.

Buffy's own brief wiggins. Which helps lead her to telling Riley about some of her past.

"And the important thing is, you just have to be honest, or it's gonna be a lot worse." Buffy does sometimes have trouble remembering that when it comes to emotional matters...

And the start of the Spike/Adam partnership...

And example #1 why the Colonel is a bad commander. "Permission to speak, Colonel." "Denied."

And we close on Willow and Tara as Tara blows out the candle...

Sanctuary: Faith begins her path toward redemption.

The "Council's elite" gets clobbered again.

Wesley. Understandably upset with Angel. But ultimately trusts him and shows his loyalty.

Angel refusing to give up on Faith. And actually manages to reach her, even though it's just the start of the path.

Buffy and Angel. Perhaps their most serious argument. Both seeing a certain betrayal in the other's actions.
