The Yoko Factor: Heading toward the climax of the season arc.

Another example of the Colonel not being a good commander. "It's not my mess." Yes, it is.

Spike continues his alliance of convenience with Adam. And manages to play on the insecurities of the Scoobies, leading to a major blowup.

(Although he's right that they were already primed for an argument. That's what tends to happen when Buffy drifts apart from the others. What Spike didn't realize is that the Scoobies tend to end up stronger after the blowup.)

(Spike is also helped by the fact that he's probably gotten a bit of a reputation for being "perceptive" about the Scoobies.)

Riley learns some things that he didn't want to know. First, the more complete version of the Buffy/Angel story. Then Forrest's death. Finally, that he really has a mind-control chip.

Riley probably didn't much enjoy the face-off with Angel, either...

Like the scene that follows of the Buffy/Angel/Riley interaction.

And afterwards we get a bit of Riley-insecurity that comes more into play in S5.

Although note that Buffy does not say she loves Riley after he says he loves her. Start of a pattern here.

Not saying much about the argument. Like most of their major arguments Buffy and the other Scoobies feed off of each others anger. There's also a little bonding moment between Anya and Tara as they hide out in the bathroom.


War Zone: Introduces Charles Gunn. A somewhat uneasy alliance forms between him and Angel. Uneasy partly because they're a lot alike in some ways--they both feel responsible for everything.

Some nice Cordelia-Wesley interaction. They really make a pretty good team. And they get to rescue Angel this time.
