Subject: Buffy s8 comic and gryphons. (Potential Spoilers)

Sorry, I can't find, nor remember, where this was being discussed, but it was playing on my mind so I researched it!
As I said elsewhere, the gryphon has a bird's head, so the creature in Buffy's dream couldn't have been one. However, I did discover something called a lion-griffin or lion-dragon which may fit the bill.
It was commonly featured in Mesopotamian wall reliefs and had a lion's foreparts with a bird's hind legs, tail and wings. (continued)
