At the Buffy Reunion at the PaleyFest, Joss was asked about the Buffy/Satsu coupling and he said something to the effect that this was not a life style change for Buffy, that she was not going the way of Willow and that it was a "young person with a lot of time on their hands" kind of deal. Still, could make for some interesting Buffy/Willow interactions.

I am enjoying S8 but I am a bit troubled by Buffy's demeanor. I thought Chosen was such a great series finale, partly because of the "sharing the power" theme but also for its hopefullness. When Dawn asks Buffy "What are we going to do now?" and the smile begins to creep across Buffy's face, I was really happy because for the first time since she became a slayer, that question was non-trivial. She actually had options. But now in S8, she seems to be completely alienated from her friends, sad and lost. I realize Buffy is distress make for better drama but damn, is the girl ever going to be happy? Because, well, she has earned it.
