I seem to recall something about this. Shortly after The Shield won all those well deserved awards after the first season I either read or heard (forgive me but I can't remember where) a quote from Michael Chiklis to the effect that justice would be done and it would take five seasons for it to happen. Of course, anyone who has watched the show from the first episode (as I have) probably has a solid notion of what that means. However, in my mind, there is a problem - specifically that season five is the best season of The Shield so far. It is at its absolute best right now. The writing, the acting, the direction. Everything. And Forest Whitaker's performance has been astonishing. I don't know how the ratings are but... do you end a show right when it is at its creative best? I don't know. I would have a hard time doing that.
