Subject: last-minute birthday plan announcement!

On Sunday, there's a commemoration of the Battle of Fort Tryon in, where else, Fort Tryon Park. It'll have a re-creation of an American Revolution encampment & a battle scene (which won't be what you might expect), along w/a historian as a speaker & demonstrations of colonial-era crafts. It's from noon to 3, & I'm planning to be there. If anyone local wants to show up & help me celebrate my birthday, that'd be great! Sorry this is so last-minute, but I tried to contact some local friends & didn't get much of a response, so basically, I'm doing this anyway & we'll just see who shows up on short notice. Maybe I'll try to get something else together later. (Rush jobs do tend to interfere w/planning.)

The park is in Northern Manhattan. If you take the A train to 190th St., look to the right when you exit the subway station & you'll see it. Take the path to the right once you're in the park & follow it to the 1st field.
