Subject: something bugging me about Once More (SPOILER)

Something bothering me about Once More... which I love, and have seen numerous times.

So at the end, it turns out to be Xander who made it all happen. But doesn't this seem rather, well, crummy of Xander? For him to have kept it secret like that for the whole time. I mean, sure, there are plenty of secrets among the scoobies, but in a sense Xander's ability to play along without a single hitch seems almost pathological, and way out of keeping with the person we know. I mean everyone's laughing and dancing around and Xander is just pretending not to know why?

OK, I'll come clean: I figured that they needed to end the ep and were so exhausted they just picked something at random to fill it out. I've always internally considered the "resolution" to be kind of non-canon.

I guess one fan resolution would be to suggest that Xander didn't know that it was his doing until some bit of information was revealed in the climactic scene. But then, Xander did apparently know that the conequence of the summoning was lots of dancing and singing.

ARGH!
