Subject: High Definition

I watch football on a friend's high definition television. Since I still have four perfectly good televisions for only my wife and myself, I am loathe to make the jump to a new set just because of new technology.
However, I was wondering if Buffy, Angel, and Firefly, of course, look better on HD. Has anyone tried it? (I realize that they could work worse.)
It seems like a foolish criterion for deciding on HD, but we all have our priorities!
