"That's what they should do [show people how to think], but that's not what they did on Miranda; there they tried to alter people's thoughts against their will".

This is very true - but remember in a free society there are many lines that should never be crossed, long before we get anywhere near mind control.

I know a lot of "SAINTS" who want to tell me (and limit) how I live my life. They are free to believe what they like, and to do as they like....

But "their freedom ends where my nose begins" - whatever their intentions are - and regardless of how nobel or "saintly" they may be. When a government or a people start legislating morality and meddling in my life (in areas where 'what I do' has no impact on them at all), then they are outside the dots; No matter how saintly or well intentioned they may be.

And I believe the issues raised here are with the "MAJORITY" - the "sane, saintly, well intentioned masses of these " Nobel benevolent organizations, rather than with their few corrupt, incompetent, or psychotic members.
