Sorry, but I just saw Serenity for the second time today. I couldn't believe how loud people were able to chew! And how many times must you check that your soda is REALLY all gone? SLUUURRRPPPPPPPPP.

I have a weird hearing problem. Too loud can actually be harder for me to hear, but at least it blocks the worst of the chewing and slurping. I suspect the volume is both for those people whose hearing has been destroyed from listening to music, movies etc at full blast, as well as to attempt to drown out the chewing, slurping, crying children, talking adults, cell phones, fighting (or not fighting!) couples.
