I'm hoping that El Linchador will finally get back online soon, and be able to actively rejoin our merry (and only slightly nefarious) band, but until he does, my sincere thanks to you for your always thoughtful (and never nefarious) reviews.

Echoes, (...) in Fred's gleeworthy 'I also like to build things'. I think that line is one of the most cheerable moments in the whole Angel run, and it still makes me smile in its recycled form.

There was a small debate among the MES staff as to the inclusion of this line or not. It's big fun to reference previous eps and all, but it can also easily be overdone to the point of becoming hackneyed. I did like that there is a constant tension going on in this episode between long term and short terms plans/reactions, and this line is fully in keeping with that. The question now, of course, is whether Fred is saying the words as action or reaction. (Hummm...)

I think the Old Yeller joke may just about have crossed my 'ew' boundary, particularly considering how, um, descriptive, the title becomes when attached to this particular aspect of the old dog.

You can blame me for that variant, although El Linch came up with the dog urine idea. Fortunately, most of the time our readers never get to see the really gross stuff we sometimes think up for our demonfolk characters!

But of course, you do have the bookending bit where Lorne quippily suggests the Ly'chymni partake of some beer and "make their own", and the demons go "ewwww!!" ;-)

-Was that a fresne shout-out, cos if so, yay!

Hey, we look after our own here! (~grins~) Plus Superman / Mxyzpltk / Bizarro subtext-- how can you go wrong?

And so let me finish on the scene that knocked me sideways.

Thanks. Most of that scene was El Linch's work, so I know he'll be pleased to hear how delighted you were with the end result.

As to getting knocked sideways (in a tangential fashion), I'm still trying to get over the fact that in Serenity, the name of the settlement the ship's crew take refuge in holds special meaning to this MES'er, and starts me to wondering...

Nah.

Well, maybe. It's a big 'verse, right?

Life am good.

:-)
