A squirrelbabe ran into the room, yelling "My candied chestnutters are goner!!" A mouse walked up to her. "You norra cue wher they's at?" he questioned. "Follwo me," she said, and started running to the orchard. She pointed to scraps of candied chestnuts. 'Bigga bird fwy down, grabba chestnutters, an' den fwy off in da sky!" "We finda him an' choppa 'is beak offa!" They ran around, looking for the bird. Then a volemaid pointed into the sky. "Looka! Bigga bir'!" "We laya 'rap!" piped up a churchmouse. "We putta lots o' chestnutters on groung, den frow bigga net ona bird and shoot at 'im wiv our swings!" he indacated to his slingshot. "Gooda 'lan!" they agreed. They laid out the trap and waited. Soon a large rook came and started ear=ting the nuts. "Now!" commanded the mouse. They trapped the big bird, tied a rope around his beak, then mounted him. They flew over to his nest and took the chestnuts. Then they flew back to their home, the Abbey.
