Subject: Christina Does Her Cher Impression, Justin Fights The Screams At Tour Kickoff

mtv.com

PHOENIX — With ice on both ears, Justin Timberlake set out to prove that on his own he can accomplish the mission that was set for 'NSYNC — to generate a little respect for pop.

On Wednesday, the crowd at the sold-out America West Arena turned the venue into a balls-out dance club for the opening night of Timberlake and Christina Aguilera's Justified and Stripped Tour. The fans, most of whom were women in their late teens and early 20s, screamed at Justin and Christina's every move and word.

Aguilera's set began with images of her on a video screen showing her distaste for tabloid rumors and gossip. She ripped off each piece of clothing — an obvious homage to her album title, Stripped. When the curtain dropped, the songstress strutted out, inadvertently, perhaps, doing her best Cher imitation — big curly black locks, a black and hot-pink halter with belly-baring plunging neckline, pants and spiked heels — for the opener, "Dirrty."

The concert was Aguilera's first major chance to show off her more mature image and lyrics, all of which the crowd ate up. Fans sang along with songs from Stripped as well as stripped-down versions of older songs like "Come on Over (All I Want Is You)." The 22-year-old, sounding like a seasoned veteran of decades, called the song one that she took "out of the closet, dusted it off."

"Thank you so much for coming. ... I have not been on a stage like this in a long time. I'm getting that feeling again and it's a blessing," Aguilera said. "Yes, I've grown up a little bit. Now I'm 22. ... I'm so happy you've grown with me."

Her set focused primarily on her vocals and backup dancers and included several remixes of her hits. For the Egyptian-turned-metal version of "Genie in a Bottle," Aguilera rolled onstage tied to a giant "X" (that'd be for her nickname, X-tina) with hot pink straps attached to her outfit. She slowly unraveled herself as the "genie" in her song provocatively danced her way out of the bottle.

The "Moulin Rouge" soundtrack cut "Lady Marmalade" was a playful romp between male dancers dressed as sailors and female members of the troupe in lingerie. She changed into a silky empire-waisted red dress to channel her favorite singer, Etta James, for "At Last" and the sultry "I Prefer You." A male dancer ripped off her skirt during a Latin number, to which she saucily responded, "Just because my album name is Stripped, it doesn't mean you can take my clothes off."

Although she claimed her sexy, multipierced new image represents her "true" self, she seemed most at ease wearing jeans and a T-shirt emblazoned with "God sees no color" for the closer, "Beautiful."

While Aguilera's set focused on her supernatural voice, Timberlake showcased his beat-box and dancing talents. Clearly the crowd favorite, Timberlake began his set with the lighthearted disco hit "Rock Your Body."

When he yelled, "What's up Phoenix? Did you come here for a good time?" his vocals were barely audible over the screams. "We got some crazy people in the crowd tonight," he responded. "I'll be your host for this evening. I'm gonna test your knowledge a little bit with this one. Let's see if you can spot this one."

His stage banter served as a segue to a funked-up "Gone" and "Girlfriend," the only two 'NSYNC songs of the night.

Timberlake was personable and chatty with the audience. During the Spanish-flavored "Senorita," Timberlake recruited the men in the audience to turn to the women and say, "It feels like something's heatin' up. Can I leave with you?" And the women responded, "I don't know what I'm thinking 'bout, really leaving with you."

Musically, the songs took a more dramatic turn thanks to his live band. "Cry Me a River" made use of heavy percussion and marching-band beats instead of mere drum loops. Before the song ended in a shower of pyrotechnics, Timberlake pointed to the end of the stage, from which a mic popped out for him to beat box into. For the next 10 minutes, he swung over the main floor via a catwalk, which moved none too smoothly. He seemed relatively nervous, perhaps because it brought flashbacks of a Spinal Tap-like incident at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, Michigan, when he was stuck suspended over the crowd as the rest of 'NSYNC "flew" back to the stage.

He wrapped up the almost four-hour show with the Michael Jackson-inspired "Like I Love You."

Kicking off the night at 7:30 p.m., the Black Eyed Peas took charge of the stage and main floor. Apl.De.Ap tried to get the crowd to bounce while jumping on a seat near the stage, but stumbled and fell into a woman in front of him. Otherwise, the set was strong, with the group — and new member Fergie — rolling out material from its forthcoming album, Elephunk, due in stores June 24. The set included the very un-PC "Let's Get Retarded." Will.I.Am offered a disclaimer at the end of the song: "We mean no disrespect to persons with disabilities. It's just about having fun." The Peas closed things out with their current hit recorded with Timberlake, "Where Is the Love."

There was a guy named Todd on who talked about learning to dance by watching MMC and emulating the moves. I thought that was so cute - and it brought back memories of dancing around to MMC in the living room. I really wanted Joey to ask him who his favorite Teer was. Unfortunately, his voice wasn't the best and he got cut.

Justin!

Justin Timberlake has had a jam packed couple of months, with the release of his first solo album, Justified, the constant scrutiny about who he is or isn't shtupping, rehearsals for co-hosting the MTV movie awardas and furious prepping for the U.S. leg of his summer tour with Christina Aguilera. Before that kicks off, though, he has taken a quick spin through Europe. It is the first time he has hit the stage without four guys next to him, which was daunting, he admits, but he appears to be over it. "It's been pretty damn fun," he says during a stop in England. "The outcome has been way more than I could have ever hoped for. And they sing every song." And now, a chat with the man whom Pharell Williams calls a dope individual.

How's it going in England?

Honestly? It's crazy over here. This is my first (solo) tour. I don't know, maybe I should have done clubs instead of this. It's madness- the schedule, the touring, the demand. The dynamic is completely different than what I'm used to, you know what I mean? You're in a different territory- just being out of American, it gives you kind of this weird, anxious feeling. Before my feet hit the stage, I was like, "Uh, I wonder how this is going to go?" And then, of course, as soon as the lights were up and the crowd was into it, I was OK.

Do you do any 'Nsync songs?

I do some bits, some stuff that I wrote for the group. A lot of the stuff IF kept in medley form because I wanted the show to feel continuous. I hate going to a show and feeling like it's a recital. I'd rather it feel continuous, like a club. You go to a club and the DJ doesn't stop, he just spins from one song to the next.

What's been the best rumor you've heard about yourself lately?

Well, the playboy rumors are funny. They call me "trousersnake" here now. At first I was like, "What does that mean?" Trousersnake! Honestly, I don't read the stuff anymore.

But most of it is positive.

Most of it, yeah. I'm not on heroin or cocaine yet in the press, so...

Well, you're young.

Yeah. There's room to grow.

What song do you think Christina should cover?

You know, the cool thing about Christina is she can bascially do so many things with her voice. You hear "Beautiful" and you hear "Fighter", and you're like, "Wow, these are two different people." You know what would be really cool to hear Christina do? Something by Billie Holiday.

What's the biggest misconception about her?

People think she's a lot more ghetto than she is. Because she's got the diva voice, you automatically think that she's a diva because she's got the diva voice, you automatically think that she's a diva because that's supposed to come with it. For the most part, she's more reserved than most people would think.

What do you get asked the most about Christina?

We've been rumored to have had a romance, which is so far off. We're two people who are just very platonic. You know, I can't say that we're best of friends, we don't hang out at all the time, but that's more of less because of what we do, and the schedule is so crazy.

There hasn't been a ton of dialogue between you two about the tour.

The trickiest part right now is figuring out how to make both of out (stage) sets work, timewise. You have like twenty minutes to break down and put the next one back up. So it's literally going to be a disaster, I think. I know that at least for the first month, I'll just go in my dressing room and do what I'm supposed to do. Honestly, I enjoy being on tour because I enjoy being alone. I crave alone time. I think somtimes you get these people who become obsessed with the four-letter word fame. To me, it doesn't exist. There's nothing that says that any of us entertainers are a pinky nail in length more important than the guy who builds the streets in New York City. I mean, he's doing a lot more than I am for society.

Let's talk summer memories. Have you ever been to camp?

No. I don't think I would be good at summer camp. Because I grew up as a only child, I don't think I would be good with sharing my room.

what's the best album to listen to when you're driving around on a summer night?

Coldplay. In the daytime I prefer Parachutes, and at nightime I prefer A rush of blood to the head, which has a little more angst. I used to love to listen to hip-hop when I drive but it makes me speed and I'd get tickets. I had to bring out the Coldplay because it actually makes me drive the speed limit.

What's the ultimate pop song?

"I want to hold you hand" by the Beatles- that's a perfect little pop song. There's all differnt types of pop songs that are perfect in their own little way. "Tiny Dancer" from Elton JOhn, is one of those songs that you don't really know all the words to, and you're singing at the top of your lungs, and you're only catching the last word of every line.

Why do you think your hormones rage in the summer?

You know what's funny about the summer? The art of making out. It's just like, it becomes acceptable. There's alredy twice as much skin exposed, and people have been training for three months just to get in these bathing suits, and you look around and you're like, "Who can I make out with?" Everybody in the summer turns into that person. I don't even think it's more or less about taking it further than that. It's just the art of the make-out. Summer is the art of the make-out.

How can an audience member get your attention?

For the first fifteen minutes, it's a blur. It's like you just see heads. Then you see the signs people make. Then sometimes you get flashed. I don't encourage that, because some girls have gotten kicked out of venues before. Wink, wink, nod, nod.

One last question. Did you ever have a crappy summer job when you were young?

Uh, yeah, it was called the Mickey Mouse Club? I don't know if you've heard of it? I'm just kidding. I'm kidding.

Christina!

Christina Aguilera's website helpfully includes a section called "Rumor Mill," over which her mom, Shelly, presides. It's a smart idea- controversy seems to cling to Aguilera like a Versace dress, so why shouldn't, Shelly tackle the gossip head-on? She answers it all: Is Christina dating Dave Grohl? No. Nose job? No. Doesn't like to make eye contact? Sometimes. Are she and Justin Timberlake together? Only onstage, for this summer's ballyhooed Justified and Stripped tour. "there is only a working relationship, not a romantic relationship," Shelly writes. Capisce?

The hostile tone of some of this gossip is distressing. In a world of bland pop creations, we need Christina Aguilera. She boldly speaks her mind, she livens up a red carpet and she wears assless chaps. What's not to like? The newly brunette Aguilera will commence her tour with Timberlake this month. The idea was concocted by their managers. No fools, they: Both are young (22), hot and talked about, and have released the best albums of their careers. Aguilera will be singing plenty of tunes from stripped, which continues to crank out the singles, the next one being "Can't hold us down." She chitchats about Timberlake, the tour and her first make-out session.

So why did you and Justin decide to tour together?

We both put out records around the same time that kind of introduced ourselves to the world as new artists, in a way. So it was just a good time. And I've known Justin since the Mickey Mouse club days, since we were twelve or thirteen, so we go back in our friendship, and it kind of works.

what part of the tour has caused the most discussion between the two of you?

I really don't know what his show is about, and its better that way, because I want our shows kept separate. It is a co-headlining tour- its not like were setting up this whole tour based on two of us and our chemistry together. I've read reviews of his shows in Europe, and out course, they've all talked about the girls screaming- youre getting some of that Nsync crowd in there. And they say he's Michael Jackson-esque, coming down a kind of a stripper pole. That, of course, will be a on command girl's screaming thing.

What's the biggest misconception about him?

I never hear him getting bashed. I think females get it worse. I just know him for being down-to-earth and goofy and silly. But he's got a little guy thing going on, too. He knows whenever he walks into a room, and certain girls are all like (sighs). He knows what he does, too. He doesn't get arrogant, he just knows how to put it on and play up to it. I've been out to clubs with Justin and I've seen some of the girls that have hung around him, numerous dancers that are all about getting with him because he's him. And some of these girls are really good at making it out like they have the best intentions in the world. There's a term I use, but I don't know if I should be that blunt.

Yes, You should!

Me and my camp call it "suck dick for dollars." It's a term for some of these girls that want to get a break so bad, and they're just all over him, and it's just so sickening to me.

Why do you think everyone is so fasicnated with your weight? First people were on you because they thought you were anorexic. You can't seem to win.

I think when a woman is very confident about how her body looks regardless of society's viewpoint of what a woman's body should look like, it upset's people. I'm unapologetic for the things I do, the things I wear, the things I say. You Know, it seems like they all want this pretty, perfect america's sweetheart. I don't even want to hear about my risque clothes anymore, because I can't even tell you how covered up I was promoting my song "beautiful" and none of those (photos) got publicized at all. And I laughed my ass off when I first saw me being curvy in this certain dress. It was the first time that I was supercurvaceous, and my latin side of me was coming out!

Right on!

And the media was very negative. It was like, "What kind of message are we sending out there to young girls?" You know, just let me be me. And I love my curves. We come in all differnent shapes and sizes, and the media should say something freakin nice about someone that's trying to step out of the boundaries. And, no matter what, I'm just going to keep on doing what I'm doing.

Who do you think is Justin's ideal mate?

Britney. He and Britney made a great couple. I've known the both of them since that time, and they kind of had their little crushes back then. Britney has known him for such a long time, too- before he was Justin Timberlake, the star, when he was just Justin, the kid on the Mickey Mouse club. I don't know, I have a feeling that there's going to be some reconcilation. I know that they talk and everything, and it's cool. I don't think it's over.

Tell me about a favorite summer vacation that you've had.

I've never been on vacation. I really never have. My early childhood was very back and forth from whether my mom was going to stay with my dad, or whether she was gonna stay with my grandma. I guess the best one was at my grandma's house in Pennsylvania. It was fun- crickets and stuff. But I've never been to summer camp. Summer camp takes money, you know.

What's the best album to be driving aroundlistening to on a summer night?

Led Zepplin. I love physical graffiti. I love Led Zepplin, are you kidding me? Houses of the holy. You can just really turn it up and sing out loud and be crazy. Another one that's totally fun to sing along to is Live through this, from Hole.

What's the ultimate pop song?

Prince, "Kiss." More current day, I'd say :My name is" by Eminem. It's so friggin catchy. You gotta say Michael Jackson- "beat it", "don't stop til you get enough" and "PYT." My favorite ever is "Imagine," by John Lennon.

Can you recall the first serious make-out session that you had?

I think I was an early make-outter. Not really knowing what you were doing, but kind of like when you play house when you're little? I lived in Japan from ages three to six, and I know during that time, I was either five or six, and I had, like a full-on. My mom totally caught me on the front porch with this boy that lived a couple of houses down. It was very cute and flirtatious and funny and young, but it wasn't no little peck. It was a make-out session. I don't know whether that makes me look really bad, but, hey, it happened.

JC Chasez Gets Artistic

'N Sync star says solo debut is not about sales

For his first solo album, 'N Sync's JC Chasez is doing everything from conducting strings to writing out arrangements. "Musicians will respect it a lot more than anything I've ever done before," he says. "This album is not about what's going to sell. It doesn't come close to [his hit single] 'Blowin' Me Up.'"

Taking some time off from the spotlight and the influence of his record company, Chasez wrote twenty songs, based on his own experiences. "There are songs about writing a goodbye letter, interracial relationships, the purist most beautiful kind of love, love being brand new, the typical 'I was out the other night and saw a hot chick' stuff -- all the things I think about," he says. "The fun part is there are little parts I've added to make it colorful and different."

One new track of note is "Some Girls Dance With Women," which Chasez says was inspired by just being an all-American guy. "It's about girls dancing with other girls, guys getting turned on -- but the girls don't want to dance with the guys. I wrote about the oxymoron in that."

Now the twenty-six-year-old Chasez is heading into the studio, where he'll pair up with longtime collaborators Rip Roch, Alex G and Rob Boalt. "I'm just going to lock myself in a dark room for two months and hopefully finish up the record," says Chasez.

Some fans are likely to be surprised by the new tracks. "I took more of an artistic approach," he says. "I'm not sure about typical 'N Sync fans -- I hope to take younger fans who grew up with us, and give them more to think about. I'm trying to respect their intelligence."

His new musical direction is also influenced by some of rock's greatest artists. On "Mercy," Chasez says, "I'm using Police-style melodies over hip-hop tracks. You know how Sting used to sing really high? And then for other songs I'd almost be talking-singing kinda thing, like Jimi Hendrix."

"There's also 'Come To Me,'" he continues. "It's an old school Eighties sound. It's like a great driving song, all synthy like the old Corey Hart and Duran Duran records."

But Chasez is still partial to the ballads. "I love 'Lose Myself,' he says. "It's a fantasy, about meeting somebody and not feeling like yourself. There are colored metaphors in the lyrics."

You know, it's a good thing I didn't bet money on the outcome of AI, cuz I would have lost!! I thought for sure Clay was going to win. But I'm happy for Ruben. He deserved it (well, really they both did).

But what was up with that show? What a waste of air time. It was like watching The Brady Bunch Variety Show. Too cheesy.

And I'm really not diggin' Kelly Clarkson's Miss Independent. Too much like Miss Aguilera.

Well, all in all, it was a great season and I wish all the contestants (yes, even Carmen)the best of luck in the future!!

This weekend I rented Ryan's movie "The Slaughter Rule" at Blockbuster's. I recommend this movie only if you really, <i>really</i> like Ryan. What a crappy movie!! Half way through, I lost interest and started to play FreeCell on the computer. But as usual, Ryan was brilliant-way too talented for this movie.

I also rented "The Ring." Worst movie ever!!! The plot had so many holes I could drive a bus through it. The end was a big let down. I have a lot of unanswered questions. UGH!!

To quote my friend Tash, "This movie gets made, but I can't see "The Believer" in the theater!!"

And you know what song has been stuck in my head all day and I don't know why??
<i>Everybody wants something, they'll never give up.
Everybody wants something, they'll take your money...
And never give up.</i>

BTW, if you have no idea where this is from, don't say anything. I feel old as it is already.

And I think he's going back to being known as "Chase."

Justin Timberlake & Magic Johnson

As if having a successful solo career weren't enough, Justin Timberlake is determined to prove that he's got game — literally.

The 'NSYNC singer has signed on as a special correspondent to cover sports for both TNT and TBS, the networks announced Tuesday.

Timberlake's new job as a sportscaster will find him reporting from a variety of sports events for TNT, including the NBA regular season and playoffs, NASCAR races and the PGA Championship. For TBS, he'll appear at major-league baseball games and Big 12 and Pac-10 college football games.

"Justin's interest and enthusiasm not only in the NBA, but in all sports, should help provide our broadcasts with a new, fresh approach," Turner Sports executive producer Mike Pearl said in a statement.

For one of his first assignments, Timberlake teamed with Magic Johnson for a feature called "The NBA Playoffs ... Justified." Timberlake described the skills of "new school" stars, which Johnson compared to "old school" legends, in between shooting some hoops themselves. The spots begin airing this week.

This isn't Timberlake's first venture into sports, or first run-in with Johnson. Besides having recently appeared on "Inside the NBA" with Michael Jordan, he's taken part in the NBA All-Star Weekend for the past two years, and the singer played against Johnson in February 2002's "989 Sports All-Star Hoop It Up" (the event aired live on TNT). In that game, Timberlake hit a long-range jumper over now-fellow TNT analyst Kenny Smith, who won two championships with the Houston Rockets.

Finally the real competition begins!!!

I thought Joshua performed his best on Tuesday night, but I'm happy to see him go. It was his time (actually, his time was weeks ago, but that's okay).

So any thoughts on who's going to take this thing?? At this point, I'll be happy if either Kimberly, Clay, or Ruben win (as long as Clay promises never to "dance" again...I'll never be able to listen to Grease the same way again). I love Kimberly. She has "diva" written all over her, but I don't think she'll be in the final two.

If Ruben and Clay are in the final two, my vote(s) goes to Ruben. But I think this competition has Clay written all over it.

Justin : Hello
Java : Hey how ya doin?
Justin : Pretty good
Java : Is this Justin Timberlake?
Justin : Uh, I think so.
Java : Hey everybody it's Justin Timberlake! *applauding*
Justin : It depends on if you're looking to borrow some money or not.
Java : Where are you right now, Justin?
Justin : I'm actually in uh, Los Angeles
Java : You're in Los Angeles..
Justin : *whispering voice* In a remote location rehearsing for the Justified and Stripped tour
Java : It's a bigass tour you've got going on
Justin : Yeah

Justin : I-- I have-- What do you want me to say to that?
Java : Who's better in bed, Britney or Christina?
Justin : I wouldn't know
Java : Ohh.. come on Justin, be honest. You told Hot 97 in NYC--
Justin : I wouldn't know how to judge them, I think that might answer your first question
Java : I would say, that Christina is probably a better lay, but Britney's got them little funbags(?) ya know, to play around with. But Christina is probably all dirty in her naughty area
Justin : Well I, my question is why are you DJing, why aren't you at the comedy club

*ohhhhs*

Java : Alright.
Justin : *talking to someone in bg* (Yeah.. he's trying to say some dumbass @#%$) Okay, go ahead
*light laughter in studio*
Java : I wanna know who you've been with.. I don't care about your musical influences and what--
Justin : I--
Java : --I wanna know who--
Justin : So you're the sterotypical radio DJ you say?
Java : Yes, I am a Howard Stern wannabe, I wanna get to the hard-hitting truth. Your fans, honestly Justin be honest with me, your fans don't care about the direction of your tour, or the direction of your music, or who you grew up listening to.. they wanna know who you bone. Am I right or am I right?
Justin : Well anyone who wants to know that will just have to keep wanting to know, because I don't talk about that
Java : Well you talked to Hot 97 about it. Hey did you bang Kylie Minogue?
Justin : I'm not gonna comment on these questions bro, you need to move on.
Java : What about uh, Janet Jackson? I heard that you uh--
Justin : *laughing* *dramatic sigh*
Java : Silly Jilly is here, Silly Jilly is my sidekick she really is into you man, she like uh, she really wants to get with you, she's uh, let me describe Silly Jilly for you, how tall are you Silly Jilly?
Java : 5'8", she's uh, very pale, very (?), um, but she really has a thing for you, man
Justin : Really
Java : Say hi to Justin
Silly Jilly : Hey sexy
Justin : How you doin?
Java : Alyssa Milano, you dated her for awhile too right?
Justin : Rumor has it.
Java : Yeah?
Justin : Yeah.
Java : How many girls have you been with? You said you lost your virginity at like, age 14 or something?
Justin : *pause* *laughter*
Java : He's not answering any of these questions
Justin : *clears throat* Hey man, you know, uh, it's hard to keep count.
Java : Alright, we won't talk about sex anymore okay? Cause obviously it's making you a little uncomfortable, even though in all your videos, you're like, you know you've got no clothes on and stuff. You're a very sexy artist, you're very sexual--
Justin : When's the last time I had no clothes on..
Java : Well you're always showing--
Justin : .. in a video
Java : Yeahhh I like that, it's sexy
Justin : Wa-wait, no I'm asking you. When's the last time I had all my clothes off in a video
Java : Yeah you've got your shirts off, you're always showing your, your uh chest and stuff. You're a very muscular man.
Java : He's getting all defensive
Justin : No I'm not, I'm, I'm a little confused
Java : You've got your PR guy in there right now, uh, policing you, telling you what to say... I want you to stand up for yourself and say what you wanna say. Don't listen to your PR guy, listen to the questions I'm asking you. Please, Justin.. please.
Justin : Dawg, we're just having a conversation, calm down
Java : Let's talk about marijuana. You and your mom smoked marijuana right? Is that right? You and your mom smoked pot together.
Justin : No
Java : You didn't?
Justin : No
Java : What about you and Nelly? You and Nelly were smoking weed right?
Justin : Possibly
Java : Ah yeah.
Java : Do you, are you a bong(?), bowl(?) or a hooka(?) person?
Justin : What's your preference? I bet you get off on like, speed huh?
Java : Nooo! No, god no.
Justin : You sound like a speedhead
Java : I'm a large mammal, Justin, I'm a very fat man. If I took speed my heart would implone
Justin : Okay
Java : You ever had any uh, gay experiences with the other guys from NSYNC?
Justin : Yo, switch the subject real fast dude
Java : What? What is your problem dude? What do you want me to do, like a, like a, like a Carson Daly type interview? 'Hey, what are your musical influences?'
Justin : No! Well you know the answer to that question.
Java : No I don't! Look there's alot of promoerotisism(?) in the NSYNC videos, I think it's a very fair question. How come you popstars are always so friggen uptight man? Answer the friggen question. What you think you're so big, you can't answer a question? Okay Justin we'll do an interview YOUR way. 'Who are your musical influences... Marvin Gaye and uh, uh, lemme see, uh Luther Vandross?'
*long pause*
Java : Yeah, silence. Alright I'm done with you Justin, goodbye. Good luck, good luck on the tour Justin. Say hi to your uh, say hi to Bryan Seacrest and Carson Daly. They can do better interviews than I can do, I guess right?
*another pause*
Java : Bye. Good luck on the tour.
*faint laughing*
Java : Hang up! He's not gonna hang up, cause if he hangs up then he's the bad guy, right? But I'm the bad guy. I'm asking honest questions. I'm asking questions that your fans wanna know about, am I not?
Justin : Anybody who is a fan of mine does not wanna know a dumbass question like, is there any homo activities
Java : They wanna know who you have sex with, they wanna know who you have sex with. Am I right? And you look at any newspaper article, any magazine article... come on Justin, give me something, you know, I'm dying over here..
Justin : Just calm the hell down!
Java : Okay--
Justin : Yeah take a valuim, @#%$!
Java : Wh-- He called me a @#%$.
Justin : Yeah!
Java : Justin Timberlake called me a @#%$
Justin : Well you act like one, you deserve to be called one
*faint clapping*
Java : A major popstar just called me a @#%$. Now lets start the interview--
Justin : You fit the role well.
Java : Let's start the interview--
Justin : Can I call you 'B' for short?
Java : Yeah call me 'B' for short
Justin : Alright. We'll do that
Java : Okay, Alright, lets start the interview over okay?
Justin : Alright
*pause*
Java : *cheery voice* Hey everybody it's Justin Timberlake!
*clapping*
Java : Hey guy what's goin on?
Justin : *faint laugh*
Java : You've got this hot new tour comin' out
Justin : *faint laugh*
Java : And the CD's real hot, it's slammin, yo!
Justin : *dramatic sigh*
Java : Who did you grow up listening to, Justin?
Justin : I can't believe I wasted my time with this
*studio laughing*
Java : Ohhh.. what? I'm starting over again! What is this guy's problem?
Justin : I can't believe I wasted my time with you. I don't know who you are, but you need to get your act together.
*Justin hangs up phone*

Ruben in the bottom two?!?!?! What is wrong with America?? Josh clearly deserved to be in the bottom. Actually, he deserved to be sent home. He is so out of his league and judging from his reaction last night, he knows it too. I'm not a huge fan of Trenyce, but she is extremely talented and should not have gone.

This show isn't a talent competition, it's about popularity. This week's results clearly show how strong Josh's fan base is and I guess that's the purpose of the competition (those die hard fans are the ones that are going to buy the albums), but it still doesn't seem fair.

Again I ask, what is wrong with America?? Well, if Britney and JLO can sell millions of albums and neither of them can sing for crap, Josh can be the American Idol (although I highly doubt he will win).

<img src="http://images.andale.com/f2/115/106/3495331/1051282077552_sq_chasez_only_t_vma2_jc.jpg">

GLENDALE, California — Joey Fatone's decision to record an album of song parodies may seem odd, but it makes perfect sense to fellow 'NSYNC star JC Chasez.

"I thought it was the best idea in the world, because he does that anyway," Chasez said during a break from his own solo project. "People don't know that Joey has spoofed every song that we've ever recorded. Every time we go into the studio, he sings the whole song off the top of his head, a whole stupid version of the song, and makes up his own words and does all these dumb things."

The only problem with Fatone's hidden talent is his past parodies are not exactly suitable for the majority of 'NSYNC fans.

"They're usually pretty bad," Chasez said, laughing. " 'Tearin' Up My Heart' was 'Tearin' Up My Ass,' you know, like, 'When I eat spicy food ...' or something like that. That's actually one of the more delicate ones."

Fatone's spokesperson had no information on the record, but Lance Bass said recently he knew of a parody of Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River" in the works.

And it appears Timberlake won't be the only 'NSYNC singer spoofed. "He's actually [asked], 'Yo dude, if I did 'Blowing Me Up' but I did other words, can you give me the track?,' " Chasez said. "I was like, 'Let me talk to Dallas [Austin, the song's producer], dude.' I definitely think he's doing the right thing. He's gonna do something that nobody else is doing right now who has the kind of spotlight that he has. And Joey does it as good as anybody."

Fatone has until the fall to complete the project, since 'NSYNC are scheduled to end their hiatus then and begin recording the follow-up to 2001's Celebrity.

Chasez said the group is especially excited to reunite after singing a cappella together in a Bee Gees tribute at February's Grammy Awards.

"The minute we start singing as a group it just sounds great — I mean, it sounds great to us," he said. "There's something in the room, you get chills when you start singing again. And we were happy to do [the tribute], especially to be honored like that, to be asked by the Bee Gees, one of the reasons that vocal harmony groups are doing what they do. They carried on a legacy, and it was kind of weird in a way because it was kind of like passing on a torch or something. It's like, 'OK, you get the next five miles.'

"There's no question there's magic there," he continued, "and it's weird to say, but we all knew it from the beginning. We never knew how far it would go or whatever; we always knew that there was magic between us, and there will be more. We'll get back together later this year and start getting into the studio and life will be good."

When 'NSYNC do join forces again, JC and Justin will be armed with songs leftover from their solo albums.

"The guys might say, 'Dude, that's dope,' and if not, I'll start from the drawing board from there and write for the group," Chasez said. "I've always been about what works."

Today at work it's "Dress Like You Did in High School" day. I don't even remember what I wore in HS. So I did the only thing I could think of--popped in an MMC tape and got some inspiration.

Ah, the early 90's...Biker shorts under skirts, two different colored slouch socks, high top sneakers, the Blossom hats (you know, the hat with the big flower in front). God what were we thinking!!!!

Needless to say I look very cute today.

American Idol: What was that CeCe Penniston song?? She performed it on MMC once. Oh yes, I remember now...FINALLY!!

Carmen should have gone home weeks ago. Actually, I don't think she should have been there. But I'm sure we'll be seeing her again (hopefully not singing).

So it looks like the final three will Kimberly, Clay, and Ruben. I really love Kimberly (as you all know), but I also love Ruben. I'm torn, but I'll be happy if either of them win. Clay-I love the guy but he's a little to Broadway for me. Simon was right. I can totally see him in Phantom of the Opera.

Oh and Justin and Stiffler from American Pie will be hosting the MTV Movie Awards. O-Kay.

They were joking around mostly. Christina said Justin was gonna do Beautiful and Dirrty and he started singing Beautiful while acting like he was swinging hair out his face or something

Then...Christina started singing something and Justin started dancing

Pat showed them the MMC tape of "Love Can Move Mountains" and Justin got up saying "Oh God" but he came back and Christina said she looked like a peanut Justin said "The hair! Go boy, go boy" when they showed his part

Then Pat asked Christina about her black hair and she said she just wanted a change. Justin said something like " This is interesting....No one ever asks me about my hair or piercings" and Christina said he needed to be a girl for a day and he was all "No I don't"

So cute!

JC Chasez Previews Schizophrenic Solo Debut
04.22.2003 11:37 AM EDT

GLENDALE, California — One of the titles JC Chasez is considering for his solo debut is Schizophrenic, the word he uses to explain its multiple flavors.

While 'NSYNC's other resident songwriter, Justin Timberlake, chose a mostly R&B route for his first record, Chasez is all over the map.

"I have a lot more live music on it, but I also have electronica pieces in there 'cause I love that stuff," JC said during a break at one of the studios where he's been recording. "My favorite kind of stuff is super-hype music when I'm in the club, or something to really zone out to so I can drive my car and kind of forget about everything ... I definitely incorporated the electronica, but I've also taken the very raw elements as well, and mashed the two into this big noisy pit of tones and timing and melody."

Like Timberlake, Chasez parades his Michael Jackson influence. However, while previewing several of the tracks on Thursday, other names came to his mind, like Prince, Seal and Jamiroquai. One of the dance ditties uses the beat from Corey Hart's 1983 single "Sunglasses at Night," while a more rock track is carried by handclaps.

So far, JC has cooked up his musical smorgasbord with a variety of producers, including electronic music maestro BT, R&B hitmaker Rodney Jerkins, Riprock 'n' Alex G (Christina Aguilera) and newcomer Rob Boldt.

"My goal in making this record was to have a lot of fun, so basically I just ended up working with my friends," Chasez explained. "BT and I became friends when we worked on the 'NSYNC record ["Pop"] and I had kind of looked up to his stuff. We ended up hanging out and so what did we do? We worked together."

"[Riprock 'n' Alex G], I've known them for years; we used to live together," he continued. "I didn't want a fabricated record so I didn't go make calls and say, 'This guy's a hitmaker, so I need a hit right now.' I took a hippie mentality to it. 'Dude, let's hang out and write tunes all day.' "

With Jerkins, who hails from JC's home city of Orlando, the singer and the producer pulled each other in different directions.

"He made it more sparse than maybe I'm used to," Chasez recalled. "And I did some weird melodic things with him. I started singing all this weird stuff over it. And he's like, 'Whatever you're doing, it's weird, but it's cool.' We just found our place in the middle."

Lately, JC's been in Boldt's studio, where he's been writing songs on a grand piano and recording them with live musicians, including experimental keyboardist Roger Manning Jr. (Beck, Air). He's also composed and recorded string sections.

"The stuff that I do with Rob is very organic," Chasez said. "I didn't think radio or club at all; I thought purely musical. It pushed me as a musician, which I enjoyed 'cause when you set the tone and the level of that musically it pushes you more as a songwriter. You think, 'Man, I have to think of something that's good enough to go with this lyrically.' "

When it comes to writing lyrics, JC can be quirky — as in songs about getting hit by a cannonball or falling in love with an alien — but mostly, he tells it like is. In fact, his other contender for a title is The Truth.

"Even though I have a barrage of material in my mind, it comes out very succinct and very clean, simple and truthful," he explained. "It can be anything from being out or, of course, the classic thing, being in love or maybe falling out of love. There's a lot of weird stuff going on in my brain, but I think it's stuff that everybody relates to. There's songs about sex, there's songs about drugs, there's songs about relationships."

One of the other voices on the album, in a more figurative sense of the term, is JC's fanbase. After finishing his first song, the "Drumline" soundtrack's "Blowin' Me Up (With Her Love)" he put it on his Web site, www.onlyartist.com, and asked fans for feedback.

"Since 'NSYNC's been chilling and we haven't been on the road or in contact with all our fans and everything, I needed to find a way to interact with them," Chasez explained. "I also wanted to show my appreciation. I'm gonna put songs out there, not only from my record, but I'm going to give them something free. After I'm done putting together my album, I want to give them something special because I want them to know that I still care."

Ironically, a lot of the e-mails JC receives are ideas about other rappers or singers he should work with.

"That seems to be the big thing right now, collaborations," he said. "[But] if I end up collaborating with somebody, I want it to be spur of the moment. I refuse to have it planned out. I think that's going to take away from the whole process."

A release date has not yet been set for the record, but Chasez plans to finish in the next couple of weeks, after working with Dallas Austin. The recording sessions will find JC coming full circle, as Austin produced "Blowin' Me Up" and was the person who actually convinced him to do a solo album. Before that, the 'NSYNC star was reading scripts.

"He's like, 'You've got too much to say. You know, there's no reason why you shouldn't. You're writing songs anyway,' " Chasez recalled. "And I kind of went home and looked myself in the mirror and was like, 'Dude, you're not an actor. I don't know what you're thinking with that pile of books and stuff like that over there.' I do that stuff to take my mind off of doing music, but at the end of the day I want to be in the studio. I had to look myself in the face and go, 'You can do TV shows, but remember that's not what you do for a living, dude. You do records for a living.' "

So Kimberly Caldwell is sent packing.. I wasn't too surprised, but I thought Carmen would go..

Now all things aside, Carmen does have power behind her voice.. But I think she needs to work on developing her voice further.. She's only 18, and I think in a few years the girl could actually be something.

Kim Caldwell, will no doubt be an entertainer.. She is a true performer.. She could also use some work on her voice, she sings pretty monotone to me..

Now Trenyce and Kimberley Locke, it's a toss up week to week as to who is better.. Usually the one gives an ok performance when the other gives a really great one..

And my feeling on the guys is that I love them.. And I don't want any of them to go.. But Josh's time is growing shorter since he is country and all.. But though I have started to get into country more and more.. I'm about 2 steps away from forgoing my pop voice for something a little more Martina McBride..

Clay and Ruben - I think Clay could be like a Josh Groban kind of artist.. A theatical kind of voice, with tones of power.. And Ruben will most likely end up winning because he's got the more "mainstream" kind of voice..

But who knows..?

Clay-He has a great voice, but I'm kinda bored with him.

Kimberly Locke-I really think she should win this competition. Her singing style is versatile. This girl can sing anything-except for maybe "Heatwave."

Rickey-Every week he does better; unfortunately I don't see him winning this thing. He'll be in the top five most likely

Kimberly Caldwell-Last week Paula said she was complacent. For the first time, I actually agree with Paula. Kimberly's style is less versatile; she sings every song with that rock sound. She won't go too far.

Josh the Marine-Okay I know country is his thing, but it's not going to win him this competition (The producers are looking for a "pop" star). He really should have been in the bottom three last week, but he's got a lot of fans out there.

Carmen-I think she wants to go home. Of all the songs she could have done, she chose that!!! It's time Carmen, I hope your bags are packed.

Trenyce-She has a wonderful voice. Yes she did mess up a little, but I can't get over the fact that she has a mug shot and I think most of the voters felt the same way. I don't know. When I look at her I don't see American Idol. She looks like someone who should be dancing/stripping in a rap video. I have a strong feeling that she would have been sent home last week, had Corey not been eliminated. I think it's either her or Carmen.

Ruben-Love him. He sang one of my favorite songs (yes I know it's a break up song) well, but he didn't blow me away. Still he's consistent and everybody loves him.

Okay, so I watched that Greetings from Tuscon (sp?) show. First let me say, that is the worst show ever and should be taken off the air. I did not laugh once until JC showed up. Second, why isn't JC acting? He was hilarious!! The character he played reminded me so much of Wipeout-like Wipeout as an adult. Yeah, it's time for JC is have his own sitcom. I'm writing some letters.

And that guy who played the older brother of the girl who moved out (I think his name is Jacob Vargas) was on Malibu Shores. He was one of Tony's friends.

I saw a part of Christina's new video for Fighter. I only saw a minute or so of it (it was on TRL) but I don't get it. Is she supposed to be a bug or something?? Whatever, it was weird.

Finally was there a Making the Video for Justin's Rock Your Body?? My friend told me there was but usually I keep up with those things. It's a cool video, but I can't watch it for too long-the colors make my head hurt.

If that don't work just try pickthehits.com

I really think her album sounds promising.. "Just Missed The Train" is my favorite so far.. It actually is a cover song, but I like the arrangement on Kelly's version better..

The orginal was sung by Michelle Brisebois who actually played the little girl on All In The Family, and I can't think of the girls name she played..

And "Miss Independent" is her first single, which is a song that Christina had written for her album with some other people.. So since it didn't make Christina's album, they offered it to Kelly, and she tweaked it a little bit giving her co-writting credits as well..

There is also a duet that is on the album with Tamyra, so I'm excited for this one!!

From Ted Casablanca's Gossip Column
eonline.com

Uh-oh! Before we get to Ms. Spears (it's licious-luscious stuff, I promise), I've just got to tell you about yet another (reportedly) baddie band boy, JC Chasez.

The cutie tamootie--well, some think so, sometimes even me--recently did a guest stint on the WB show Greetings from Tucson. Asked for a few things in his trailer, he did. (Oh, get over it; they all do, trust me.)

A Microsoft Xbox game console was all he really wanted. I've certainly heard worse.

So, a PA on the show said his parents gave him an Xbox for Xmas, and he could bring it in. Great! The budget-conscious producers couldn't have been happier with the suggestion.

Only prob being--you guessed it--the gimme guy took it with him after doing the show, so say irate WBers.

The show's peeps called his peeps and explained the sitch; apparently, all was agreed. To return the gadget, that is.

Hasn't happened, claims Tucsoners. Never did, squeals Chasez-ites.

Now that, Cindy, is what we call Only in Hell-Ay.

Thanks to the <a rel=nofollow target=_blank href="http://groups.yahoo.com/group/thejennifermcgillfanclub">The Jennifer McGill Fan Club</a>

Hey guys!  It's Jenn checking in after what seems like a lifetime of
being away from you.  I apologize a bajillion times for being away
from my computer for so long.  The reason is good news, though,
because I am working full-time at Disney's EPCOT Center, singing in
the acapella group "American VYBE".  I'm also buying my first home,
where I'll be teaching private voice lessons part time.  I've had
such success with my previous and current students, and I really
enjoy impacting young singers this way, so expanding my teaching is
a very exciting step for me :)  I continue to perform at the
Grovsner Resort, The Downtown Opry, and do special shows here and
there as well.  I also still write songs and record when I can, but
I'm not to the point yet where I can work less and record more.  I'm
hoping to really dig into my putting my album together at the
beginning of next year.  That may seem like a long way away, but
it'll be worth the wait to do the album right the first time out.  I
wish you guys the best few months, just in case I don't get back to
my computer for that long, and I appreciate everyone hangin' in
there with me as I carve out my niche in life.  You truly are the
greatest fans!  I get recognized at EPCOT at least once a week, and
it really makes my heart swell to know that you all are out there
and really mean it when you say that you remember MMC!:)  Keep the
faith:):)

I'll admit, that was a cruel joke to play, but watching Justin almost in tears made me laugh. I only wished it had gone on longer, then we would have definitely seen Mr. Timberlake in tears (<i>Cry Me a River, hahahaha</i>).

Even the Frankie Muniz one was funny. One thing bothered me, though--why does that kid own a $250,000!!! But watching Malcolm in the Middle cuss like a sailor was classic. Again, it would have been better, if it had gone on longer.

mtv.com

HOLLYWOOD — With Justin Timberlake's solo career booming and JC Chasez's looming, will other 'NSYNCers break out with records of their own?

"I'm a bass singer. No bass singers have solo albums," Lance Bass quipped at General Motors' pre-Oscar party on Tuesday.

Bass may not be able to justify going it alone, but he did reveal the next member of his pop group preparing for the leap.

"I know Joey's going to do a comedy album, which is going to be pretty funny," Bass said. "He's going to do a Weird Al Yankovic-type funny album, all parodies. You'll hear some Justin songs on there and all kinds of stuff. I'm pretty sure 'Cry Me a River,' something about a liver. He'll have fun with it."

Meanwhile, Bass will continue to develop film and television projects for his Free Lance Entertainment production company, and he'll serve as the lead judge on NBC's "The Search for the Most Talented Kid in America," debuting March 21. "It's awesome little kids," Bass said. "It's very cool and very positive for television."

Elsewhere in 'NSYNC land, Chris Kirkpatrick just signed on to manage the Dallas band Ohno, according to a Jive Records spokesperson, while Chasez is finishing his solo album for a late July release.

And of course Timberlake is gearing up for the Justified and Stripped Tour, which kicks off June 4 in Phoenix.

The solo endeavors are expected to wind down in September, and 'NSYNC plan to reunite in the studio early next year.

"We've already started writing about a month ago," Bass said. "JC and Justin have been writing a lot and are going to have stuff that didn't make their albums that's more 'NSYNC-style, so I don't know what direction this will go, it will definitely be interesting.

"If it was up to me, I'm really influenced by the '80s lately, so I could see some '80s rock in there, some fun '80s pop," he added. "I love how it's come back in style, and it's just fun music."

'NSYNC hope to work with the Neptunes again, but Bass said the group will be producing a lot of the album on its own. When the LP drops the guys will launch a world tour. "Of course Justin will do some solo stuff, and JC will," Bass said of the outing. "If Joey gets his album, he will too."

Bass was enthused about the plethora of 'NSYNC happenings but noted that he felt guilty walking the red carpet while soldiers were preparing for battle in the Middle East.

"I have a lot of friends from Orlando and Mississippi that are over there right now," he said. "It's very scary, and my prayers are with them."

Okay my personal favs are Ruben and Clay. Ruben and Clay--all the way!!!

As for the rest:

Kimberly Locke-I love this girl. She has a wonderful voice; I agree the song choice was not the best, but she didn't deserve to be anywhere near the bottom 3.

Joshua the Marine-I love him too. He did a great job on the song, but Ruben did an even better job with the same song.

Charles Grisby-He needs to go home. I thought for sure he would have been in the bottom 3

Kimberly Caldwell-Okay I just don't like this girl. I guess it's the blond snob, cheerleader, prom queen thing she has going on, but the girl can sing.

Rickey Smith-It's a good thing they flash their names on the bottom of the screen during the performances, or I wouldn't know this guy's name. He did okay.

Julia-I liked her until last night. Apparently, she misunderstood's Simon's comment about not taking a bow (her boobs would fall out) and she reacted in such an immature manner. But her performance was mediocre. I wished she moved around more. She's lucky she has another chance to redeem herself.

Clay-What more can I say that hasn't already been said. Phenomenal!!!

Vanessa-I find her a little over the top and I know that if she stuck around she would get on my nerves. I thought her performance was good considering there were a couple of people who were a lot worse.

Corey Clark-I'm sorry, I don't like this guy and I don't find his voice to be all that great. Good thing he's cute. Smokey Robinson?!?!? (interbang) I think not!!

Carmen- Why is this girl still there? If anyone should have been eliminated, or in the bottom 3, it should have been Carmen. Her performance was the best I've seen her do, but I think she's hanging on by a thread.

Trenyce-She did great.

Ruben-See Clay

My prediction as to who will go next: Julia. But then again anything can happen. Like it's been said, you're only as good as your last performance.

Durst Dishes Alleged Britney Nookie On Howard Stern Show
02.27.2003 7:18 PM EST

The he-said/she-said between Britney Spears and Fred Durst went into overdrive Thursday morning when the Limp Bizkit frontman offered intimate details about his professional and personal relationship with the singer on Howard Stern's syndicated radio show.

"I swear on my son Dallas' baby blue eyes I was telling the truth [about our relationship]," said a groggy Durst, who admitted to being out late the night before. Stern and his crew egged him on for salacious details for about a half an hour.

"This [relationship] went on for a little while, that's what's pretty unbelievable about this crap she's saying," Durst said of Spears' recent statements that she barely knows the Limp Bizkit singer.

"It wouldn't have been kiss and tell if I hadn't been responding to my fans," Durst said, discussing posts (now removed) on his band's Web site in which he appeared to be reveling in a blossoming relationship with Spears.

After pressure from Stern, Durst claimed that after several nights of working together on tracks for Britney's new album, the singer invited him back to her Los Angeles home along with a group of her family and friends.

When asked if the invitation led to a one-night fling, Durst responded, "That would be uncool for me to answer," though he did say that "what I say in my music is very real" and then quoted the lyrics of a new, unnamed Limp Bizkit song: "Ain't it funny, scared to admit it/ Very first night made the Limp dog hit it."

Durst told Stern the only reason he even acknowledged the relationship was because paparazzi pictures of the two began popping up in tabloids, stirring up Limp Bizkit fans in the chat rooms on the band's site. "Kids start seeing these pictures and asking, 'What's going on?' I had to defend myself to my fans. ... It blew up really big. I started to get upset."

Stern also played part of "Just Drop Dead," a new Limp Bizkit song Durst posted on the band's Web site. The singer said the song isn't specifically about Spears, but that his experience with her helped inspire the track.

Though he seemed unwilling to discuss the more personal details of his alleged liaison with Spears, Durst was eventually prodded into offering purported intimate details about Spears' body and their private activities.

"It's sad that he's decided to make up stories, and the situation feels very junior high school," a spokesperson for Spears said.

Durst spared no detail in discussing his professional relationship with Spears, saying that he wrote three songs for her, which he recorded as demos using his voice. "Her management called, and I thought, 'She's pretty hot. I've always had this thing for her. We'll see what happens.' I wrote these songs ... [and] I said, 'Just sing what I sing and I'll mute my voice.' "

Durst said the pair spent two or three days in a studio working on the songs, which he described as trip-hop tracks reminiscent of Portishead and the Sneaker Pimps. "I'm very diverse. I write in a lot of different styles. It was very dark ... too mature for her."

Durst said he told Spears' label he was not going to let her use the songs after Spears began denying their personal relationship in the press. The Spears spokesperson said no final track selection has been made yet for the album, but that it does not appear that the Durst tracks will be included. "She's still recording the bulk of it," the spokesperson said.

Ah! Yes! Finally!

I never rave over award shows; in fact, lately they have been annoying. However, I was so happy to see the artists that stood out at this year's Grammy's---mainly JOHN MAYER AND NSYNC! But also, Norah Jones...a fellow Texas girl that actually went to University of North Texas (where my little bro goes). Hm. Anyway...

First, I have been a huge John Mayer fan before Room for Squares was even out (we MMC fans have a tendency to know good talent before it's famous, huh?) I had a heart attack when he won tonight! It was like Keri Russell winning the Golden Globe all over again. He is just...the greatest...ever.....AH! And to beat out Sting and James Taylor? He totally deserves it...

NSYNC--STOLE the show. I was so proud of them. I know that is lame, but I feel like it was 100 points to their own credibility. Incredible. I loved Stayin' Alive--AWESOME. I AM WRITING IN ALL CAPS. Okay, I'll stop. It was great to see them all back together again (except for JC's mullet).

All in all, I thought the performances were great--almost every single one (Ashanti's was a little too after school special).

Kite, lucky girl, is actually at the Grammy's tonight, so if I can track her down, I will get her to post the real report!

Britney threatens to sue tabloid over coke story. She denies a report that she tooted off a toilet top in a Miami club by Gary Susman

Britney Spears is fuming over a tabloid report accusing her of ingesting coke -- and not the kind that would have compromised her status as a Pepsi pitchwoman. She's denying a report in the Star that quotes an unidentified member of her entourage as saying she was snorting cocaine at Miami's Crobar Club. According to the source, she tooted a line off the top of a toilet in the VIP bathroom, then asked a pal to ''check me, check me,'' to make sure there was no trace of white on her nostrils. ''There is absolutely no truth to this story whatsoever,'' said Spears publicist Nathalie Moar in a statement. ''Lawyers for Miss Spears are filing a defamation suit as we speak.''

The Star story says that there were other incidents, including one at a Los Angeles club in which Spears kept disappearing into the bathroom every 20 minutes with an unnamed movie star. ''They stayed in there for at least 15 minutes, but I didn't know if they were doing drugs or having sex or what,'' a source said. ''The only one who's guilty of doing cocaine has to be the source of this story,'' said Dan Klores, another Britney publicist, in a statement. A spokesman for the Star says the tabloid ''stands by its story, which had multiple sources and was thoroughly vetted.''

Frenchie is booted from ''Idol'' over porn past. A replacement semifinalist will be picked Feb. 25 by Gary Susman

Frenchie Davis, the plus-size, neon-haired, full-voiced ''American Idol'' semifinalist, has been removed from competition, USA Today reports, because she has acknowledged to the producers that she worked for a porn website four years ago. Fox says she'll be replaced during the Feb. 25 episode.

The nature of Davis' work for the unnamed website was unclear, as was how she violated ''Idol'''s eligibility rules, which state, ''You are ineligible if you already have any type of talent representation or a recording contract.'' (That's how contestant Jaered Andrews got booted earlier this season; he allegedly belonged to a professional hip-hop act in Youngstown, Ohio.) Nikki McKibbin, one of last year's top finishers, openly acknowledged having worked in strip clubs.

Still, coproducer 19 Entertainment, which manages the recording careers of ''Idol'' finalists and winners, remains a fan of Frenchie. The firm will ''endeavor to do all in its power to help Frenchie further her music career,'' a spokesperson told USA Today.

From ISJAB

Entertainment Tonight showed Justin walking in the club with his crew. Then they showed Britney walking in with a bunch of girls. They said she was seen talking to him in the back where he was. They danced for a long time. They showed pictures and footage of Christina, Alyssa, JC, Kelly & Aimee Osbourne, Tara Reid, Jared Leto, Nick & Jessica Lacey, Hugh Heffner and the Playboy Bunnies, and AI Randy and Tamera. Showed Justin looking around near a turntable and showed Britney around a bunch of people. Probably Justin, at least it looked like him. *shrugs*

There was a guy next to Justin who looked just like Ryan Gosling. I don't know if it was him or not. Also Christina arrived around the same time as Britney, only her car circled the block till Britney was inside.
I guess she didn't want to arrive at the same time or something.

Also Ben Affleck was talking about Britney and Colin and saying how he was glad she went to the premire with Colin because it took attention off him and JLO and that he hope she and Colin attend the DareDevil premire together cause he thinks they are cool together or something like that. Colin also said he think she is beautiful and hinted that he wouldn't mind dating.

Also! JC's album will be released in June! BMU will be released to buy on the 25th and look for new single to hit airways in April!

Fighter is the next single for Christina.
Rock Your Body is the next single for Justin.
Britney's album is slated for a October 2003 release.

You know what song has grown on me? Dirrty. I really like the song. I guess in about six months I'll love Beautiful (I'm really not feeling it now).

I'm really enjoying this season of American Idol. I think the auditions are the best part. I don't understand these people who audition, sound bad, and then get offended when the judges tell them they can't sing!!! It blows my mind.

I am much happier with the diverse group of people they've chosen-like that rocker guy, Frenchie and the other full figured girl she sang with, and the other bug guy. The one person I don't care for is Kimberly Caldwell. The only reason I remember her name is she auditioned for Popstars and was cut when she became sick and couldn't do the choreography. Yes, she has a great voice, but I didn't like how she handled the situation with the group.

Has anyone watched <i>House of Mouse</i>? If you haven't seen it, it's this cartoon where Mickey runs this club and all the audience members are characters from the various Disney movies. It's so weird seeing Cinderella sitting next to Aladdin. It's the freakiest thing. Anyway, I was wondering why it's called <i>House of Mouse</i> when actually it's more like a club. And since it's Mickey's club, wouldn't it have made more sense to call it, <i>The Mickey Mouse Club</i>? Just a thought.

Hello Fellow MMC Fans,

Over the years, many fans have met online and off to share their
feelings about their favorite show of all time. That show for most
of us, is The All New Mickey Mouse Club. A little over a year ago,
a few fans including myself had a discussion online about how
much we missed the show and even more so how it has
impacted our lives and brought so many people together.

Together we came up with the idea of having a FAN MEET for the
Disney Channel show, which would unite and reunite us via our
common bond. The event was not intended to be a reunion, but
rather something to bring fans of the show from all over the
nation and even the world together.

What started off as a small group of fans meeting up in Disney
World, is turning out to be a much bigger and better event than
we had originally intended. I want to first thank you for you
patience.

I do want to apologize for the numerous changes which have
taken place to date. With the addition of Original Man
Entertainment as one of the backers for the event, things have to
begun to pick up. Forgive me for the reorganization, but I can
assure you that those of you who do choose to attend the event,
will NOT be disappointed.

WHAT IT IS:
The Remembering the MMC Fan Convention 2003 is a 2-day
Fan Friendly Event scheduled to be held the weekend of June
14-15, 2003 in Orlando, FL. The Events purpose is to celebrate
the successes of the MMC while connecting/reconnecting fans
from around the nation and hopefully the world to reminisce
about the show and it's impact on world.

There will be a full article coming out in the next couple days with this information as well as much more. Here is just a preview of some of the info you can expect... The launch on Monday is provisional. JC is going to have three questions he wants answered by all the fans (I have the questions, they will be in the article) The site is going to
work is a couple of stages... the first stage is for JC to connect directly to the fans to find out how they want his solo album to sound. No demo solicitation until JC's album has been fully recorded and released. That's the second stage. The plan so far is.. JC's single, May, Album, June, Solo Tour, (yes, solo tour) August/Sept. JC
is going to have a press conference to be televised on CNN next week. Also keep watching E!, there's going to be an E! feature on it.

My comments: I hope this is true. I heard that Onlyartist would be launching this upcoming Monday, but I thought it was just a rumor.

"Anybody who sits down during the show will get kicked out. If you sit down, once I find you, you will get booted." — Justin Timberlake

At the American Music Awards two weeks ago, Justin Timberlake was pretty secretive about his upcoming concert plans. But now that his touring partner Christina Aguilera has spilled the beans, Timberlake feels justified to start yapping about the summer extravaganza.

"It was an idea that both of our managers concocted," he said. "When it came to me I said, 'It sounds really interesting. It would be fun to be on tour with somebody who's that talented.'"

Although some folks have raised an eyebrow at the idea of Justin touring with a supposed rival of Britney Spears, Timberlake wants to downplay any potential controversy, and is quick to sing Aguilera's praise.

"She's got one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard," he said. "That homegirl can sing. She can release a song like 'Dirrty' and get everybody talking, and then release a song like 'Beautiful' and say, 'Look, this is why I am standing here.' She's bad. That's the Christina that I met on the TV show that we did ['The All-New Mickey Mouse Club'] , and that's the Christina that will be around 10 years from now."

One of reasons Timberlake is eager to hit the road with Aguilera is because he's confident enough in his abilities as a singer and performer to not worry about being upstaged. Once he starts specifically talking about his show, he starts to sound like a self-aggrandizing WWE wrestler.

"I'm gonna make an arena feel like a club," he boasted. "I want people to feel like they're a part of the show and it's a party. Anybody who sits down during the show will get kicked out. If you sit down, once I find you, you will get booted."

Before Timberlake and Christina hit the road, Justin will re-enter the studio to tinker with new material. And next month he'll shoot the video for "Rock Your Body," the next single from Justified. A director for the clip will be chosen in the coming days.

If he's looking to ruffle feathers with the video, he'll have a tough time topping the audacity of "Cry Me a River," which depicted a heartbroken Justin watching a Britney look-alike getting in another man's car. Then Timberlake breaks into her house and leaves a tape of him groping another girl running on her TV.

Naturally, the footage provoked a flood a commentary from fans — which was actually Timberlake's goal. He said the clip was his way of commenting on the way the media has portrayed his love life, and he doesn't regret having filmed it.

"I knew what I was doing," he said. "When you become a product of the media's rumor mill you kinda get this 'thing' about you. It was a chance for me to use it and do a little reversing. To go, 'Now I've got all of you in the palm of my hand.' "

Since Timberlake released Justified, many critics have stopped talking about his love life and started focusing on his music. For him, being taken seriously as a musician is one of his greatest achievements, and it makes it easier to stomach the rumors that circulate like buzzing flies and the reporters that still want to dig for dirt.

"Regardless of what you do, rumors are gonna be around," Timberlake shrugged. "I'm sure when Eminem goes to do an interview they still wanna ask him about [ex-wife] Kim and his mom. And I'm sure he don't wanna talk about it just like I don't wanna talk about all this bullsh-- either. But it's just part of what we do. Unfortunately it's entertaining for people. They want to know about what you do when they don't see you."

From ew.com

Why Christina Aguilera is making a comeback. Critics who wrote X-tina off for her ''Dirrty'' ways may have spoken too soon by Brian Hiatt

Turns out words really CAN'T bring Christina Aguilera down. ''Beautiful,'' the latest single from her album ''Stripped,'' is dominating pop radio and appears to have salvaged its singer's image from the damage done by the live-sex-show video for her so-so first single, ''Dirrty.''

'''Beautiful' is hands-down a runaway number one record,'' says Paul ''Cubby'' Bryant, music director of influential New York top 40 station Z-100. ''It's taken her to the next level and given her more respect in the adult community. It's just a classic ballad.'' Thanks to the song, Aguilera's album, which dropped out of the top 10 last month, is back, recently reaching as high as No. 5.

The piano-and-string-driven ballad's success (it's at No. 2 on Billboard's Hot 100, and No. 1 on airplay charts) also marks another triumph for its author, Linda Perry, the former frontwoman of one-hit-wonders 4 Non Blondes, who morphed into a big-bucks producer after teaming up with Pink on ''M!ssundaztood.''

''I'm truly proud of that song,'' says Perry, who never imagined Aguilera as its singer. ''To me it almost sounds like a Beatles song. I was trying to write a song that affected everybody -- this almost desperate cry that 'I am beautiful, no matter what you say.'''

After a shaky start, Aguilera appears to have found her post-teen pop footing. She recently announced a national tour with fellow former-Mouseketeer Justin Timberlake. And even as ''Beautiful'' soars, the much-mocked ''Dirrty'' has found a second life on radio. ''We were close to dropping it, but then it got big for us,'' says Pete de Graaff, music director of Orlando's Top 40 station WXXL. ''Listeners started requesting it.''

But de Graaff says that Aguilera's next single will be all important in determining the album's ultimate fate. '''Dirrty' wasn't the same as 'Beautiful,' and the next single shouldn't be the same, either,'' he explains. ''Avril Lavigne is a good example of someone who was hot with three very different sounding songs.''

A spokesperson for Aguilera's label, RCA, which recently came under the control of industry legend Clive Davis, says they have yet to make their pick for single No. 3. Luckily, the 78-minute-long ''Stripped'' has no fewer than 20 tracks from which to choose.

NEWS - Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst Defends Feelings For Britney Spears

01/23/2003

(1/23/03, 3 p.m. ET) -- Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst is taking some heat for his relationship with pop star Britney Spears, both in the posts by fans in the band's web folders and by members of the media.

"Well I'm sure we've had it up to our necks with all the hype. Isn't it amazing how something very simple, pure, sweet, and innocent can be blown so far out of proportion?" wrote Durst in an online letter on the Limp Bizkit website.

"Who really gives a sh-t that I wanna be with Britney Spears? It seems as if everyone does. The only person that should give a sh-t is Britney. I never meant to be in this situation. Sh-t happens. What's the big deal? Yeah, she is a big POP star and her last relationship with another big POP star was a big deal, but damn y'all need to chill. Do you think I should not like someone because you don't want me to? F--k that!! You people are my family and I respect you and as you should me. I never meant to fall into all of this."

Durst then blamed the media, "All the media is doing is trying to create a lot of controversy. To them its just more interesting to make up lies and crazy dramatic sh-t. I've heard and seen some unbelievable things since I've been liking her. Now all the media has done is twisted the whole thing around and made other people come back running. And I assure you that anything besides that fact that I definitely have feelings for Britney isn't true. It is simple, honest, and pure. That's that. I feel bad for Britney having to have her life put on blast and manipulated by the media like this. Now I've been brought into it. I don't give a f--k about anything anyone thinks and definitely the media. Let's just drop this right here in the Bizkit camp. Let's move on...We don't need to be wasting our time worrying about some birds and bees sh-t!! Next time I'll fall in love with a tree."

Britney Spears Juggling Durst & Timberlake
Monday, January 20 @ 01:07:01 EST

The New York Post reports Britney Spears is busy juggling both Fred Durst and Justin Timberlake while partying at the Sundance Film Festival. During Saturday night's Express/Project Greenlight party, Spears arrived with several girlfriends, p.r. people and a bodyguard in tow, when Durst snuck in minutes later. After the two left separately, they met up again at the Chrysler Lounge on Main Street, before ending up at a private lodge party in Deer Valley in the early morning. "Justin arrived yesterday and we aren't sure if Britney has seen him yet, but she's definitely been hanging with Fred," a spy revealed.

Justin's album is currently #6
Cry Me A River is #8

Britney and Fred Durst? That is an interesting pair.

Timberlake, Aguilera Will Team Up For Summer Tour

LOS ANGELES — Justin Timberlake is reuniting with his "Mickey Mouse Club" co-star.

No, not Britney Spears — Christina Aguilera.

At Monday's American Music Awards, Timberlake said his summer tour would be a co-headlining affair, but he stopped himself from divulging more. "I will not reveal the name and start some rumors," he said mysteriously.

Fortunately, Aguilera was just steps behind him on the red carpet and let the cat out of the bag.

"Oh my God! I'm so excited," Aguilera said. "Me and Justin are going to go out, and it's going to be such an amazing thing. There's talk of us writing a song together and what not. He's so great. We're going to make it the tour of the year."

Details on the tour are forthcoming. Meanwhile, Timberlake and Aguilera are preparing to release the third singles from their recent albums, Justified and Stripped.

Like his tour, Justin wanted to keep his song a secret. Christina is deciding between a few favorites.

"It could be 'Can't Hold Us Down,' which I did with [Lil'] Kim, or 'Fighter' is a big favorite with a lot of people," she said. "'Impossible' will be in the mix, and 'Infatuation.' There's so many that could be a possibility."

Aguilera performed "Impossible," which was written and produced by Alicia Keys, at Monday's ceremony, along with "Beautiful" featuring producer Linda Perry on piano (see "Missing Eminem Cleans Up At American Music Awards").

Before her summer tour, Christina hopes to choose a script to make her big-screen debut (see "Christina Aguilera Plans Tour, Movie Role For 2003"). "I definitely want to make a movie before my next album," she said Monday.

Timberlake said he'll do a promotional tour of Europe and hit the studio again before the tour with Aguilera. On Friday he shot a video for "Work It," his collaboration on Nelly's latest album (see "Nelly, Justin Bring Video Cameras To Playboy Mansion").

"Yeah, that was tough work," Timberlake joked. "I had to hang out with Hef, watch a bunch of naked women run around. It was awful."

Fred Durst all but said he has been seeing Britney Spears and that he will be helping her on her 4th album. How interesting.

Hey I was wondering if anyone else saw the same reaction I saw on the American Music AWards last night. After Christina performed her songs it cut to a reaction from Britney in the audience and I swear she look teary eyed like if she was crying or touched by the song. I watched the tape again this morning and asked my mom to see if she saw the same thing and she thought the same. Just a weird lil observation I thought i post to see if anyone saw it too. I thought it was weird I wonder if Britney was really touched or just had watery eyes. WEll who knows?

Nelly, Justin Bring Video Cameras To Playboy Mansion

Duo shoot clip for 'Work It,' from Nellyville.

by Corey Moss, with additional reporting by Jonathan Cane

Never mind the giant trampoline or the scantily clad Playmates dodging flamingos, Nelly and Justin Timberlake were working at the Playboy Mansion on Friday. Honest.

Nelly and "his dirty," as he calls the 'NSYNC singer, crashed Hugh Hefner's notorious Beverly Hills estate to shoot a video for the pair's song "Work It," the fourth single from Nellyville.

In the clip, directed by Joseph Kahn (Eminem's "Without Me," No Doubt's "Hey Baby"), Nelly and Timberlake play gardeners dressed in matching jumpsuits with name patches sewn on. When a playful scuffle breaks out between the two, Nelly's runaway lawnmower crashes through the bushes and onto the Playboy estate. (Timberlake, who has a rake in the clip, told Kahn, "I'm not used to manual labor," when he was directed to use the tool.)

Of course, the gardeners have to retrieve the mower, and in doing so, find themselves in an illustrious world most men only dream about.

"Work It" follows the smash Nellyville singles "Hot in Herre," "Dilemma" and "Air Force Ones," which has quickly climbed to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

Earlier this week, Nelly was nominated for five Grammys, including the coveted Album of the Year.

Nikki was THIS close to getting a regular role on the ABC soap, "One Life To Live". She didn't get the part, but everything still worked out for the best for Nik. Here is the story direct from Nikki's official website ( www.nikkideloach.com )... "Nikki went on a casting call in NY... this was right before Christmas break. She and four other girls were tested for the part of a punk rock runaway singer named Flash. Check with One Life To Live in February when the girl who was selected starts on the show. At the final screen test, it was narrowed down to a girl from NY and Nikki. It was a four-year contract that deep down Nikki was relieved that she didn't get because she would have to relocate to NY and quit school and leave Ryan. She prayed the right thing would happen and it did. The negotiations on relocating Nikki was high so the role went to the girl from NY. Nikki also realized that the cost of living was so high in NY that she would hardly have anything left to live on after she paid for an apartment in a good safe area, so God was good to her because if she got the part, then she would have had to take it because she signed a contract before the screen test was done. She was thankful for being given the opportunity to test because it was done before a live audience, producers, directors, etc., an experience that was great for her. That was pretty easy for her though, due to her experience on the MMC, where everything was done in front of a live audience. Her experience on MMC was the experience of a lifetime." Source: Nikkideloach.com Posted: 1/9/03 10:26 pm .... In other news... guess who's got the cover story in Us magazine yet again, hmmmm?? Yep, Britney talks about how much she still loves Justin. I won't give any spoilers, because I haven't read it all the way through yet, LOL... but it should be in newsstands now.

I saw this on LiveDaily - the person who posted it received it in an entertainment e-mail. This would definitely go along with what Kari W. posted below:

TARA AND JC SPLIT
World Entertainment News Network

Hollywood babe TARA REID has split up with 'N SYNC member JC CHASEZ - amid claims the actress was using Chasez to further her career.

According to pals of the glamorous pair, they hit problems during the New Year when blonde Reid began trying to make the GIRLFRIEND singer possessive.

A source says, "In Miami she started flirting with other guys to try and make him jealous, and he basically said forget it. It's over completely." It is also claimed up-and-coming Hollywood star Reid was using Chasez's fame for her own gain.

The source adds, "It was always more about Tara following JC than anything else. It helped her get her press."

NEWS - The Osbournes And Christina Aguilera Have AMAs' Dick Clark On Edge
01/09/2003

(1/9/03, 12 p.m. ET) -- Show creator Dick Clark is holding his breath in anticipation of the
appearances of Christina Aguilera and show hosts the Osbournes on his 30th Annual
American Music Awards on January 13.

Both Aguilera and America's favorite new TV family are known for their
raunchiness--Aguilera for her revealing outfits, the Osbournes for their use of "colorful"
language. Clark said he was looking forward to seeing both Aguilera and the Osbournes's
appearances on the show. "Yeah, I wanna see what Christina Aguilera's gonna wear
(laughs)," Clark said, "and of course I'm a little concerned about what the Osbournes are
gonna be doing because we don't really have a script for them, and the ABC censor has
been standing by with her 'bleep' button, and I don't know...We'll see come Monday night."

Clark told the San Francisco Chronicle that he wasn't surprised to see Aguilera return in
2002 with a bawdy, more adult image, "I think, in all honesty, it's a necessary move.
Whether she's gone too far with it is up to question. But both she and Britney (Spears) and
the boy bands have to grow up and move on."

Since her release of last year's "Dirrty" video and the album Stripped, Aguilera's been
showing plenty of skin, including an eye-popping, near-nude layout in Maxim magazine.

"I think she will probably get a little tidied up," Clark said of Aguilera's possible attire for
the AMAs. "I shouldn't use 'tidy'; I mean, covered up. For cable television and her videos,
she can get away with more, but this is broadcast."
